It is at 2nd dealer, neither can fix it and both reached out to ford engineers for help and did not get a response. USB on dash works, but not ideal having a cord ...

@RTR_Bronco
You purchased this new. I think you ARE entitled to a fully functional vehicle. It's a warranty covered feature. You are justified in expecting this to be corrected.

I'm sorry there are so many negative posts responding to your request for help in your situation.

I don't know Texas Lemon Laws, but situations where I hear lawyers are involved, my wallet begins to feel a bit lighter. (My apologies to any attorney members that I may have offended.)

So before contacting a Texas buyback lawyer, have you started nagging the current dealership's Service Manager on a daily basis -- and I DO emphasize daily?

Good thing I spent under $30k for my Bronco. Money does tend to charge things up. ;)
Ehh, similar money for my 21 Base (new), but that aint gonna happen again any time soon.
Curious reply though.
Does that mean you'd accept shit not working as it should? ... because you paid less?

Ironically, I like the Base trim due to the minimal tech bundling, but there is still a ton of it , and as it pertains to this thread, the USB's are there, I'd expect them to work for charging and physical data connection points..... as designed.

We have USB ports?
LOL!
Yes, our Base models have USB ports.

I'm not certain there's much use for them with that old school flip phone of yours though. It's probably still using the mini-headphone style jack!
😁

For a USB port? What's wrong with it? Maybe try requesting some financial compensation instead. No way I'd have my car in repair two months over a USB (especially seeing as I've yet to use my USB port in 1.5 years of ownership).
^THIS. I doubt a buy-back is even appropriate for such a minor issue. I would be upset too but you are expecting far too much....try and get some compensation and buy some accessories with it.

The car’s computer is not properly communicating with the outlet and Ford has no idea how to fix. It is likely a bigger issue than just the USB with more headaches to come. If Ford can’t figure out how to fix it, clearly it is not some minor issue like y’all think. Lemon law attorney I talked to already said it qualifies. But I just heard from the dealership that Ford is going to help out with trade in value so I can get a replacement… we will see how that goes

It's not about being a Ford apologist, but for me the Bronco checks off so many boxes in terms of functionality and fun, a USB port that doesn't charge would be way down on my list of complaints, certainly not rising to the level of months out of action and lemon law buyback. But hey maybe I'm an easy date, lol.

Also I don't use the built-in USB port on any of my vehicles for charging, they usually provide lackluster performance. I have $10 or whatever fast chargers that plug into the cigarette lighter ports.
If not in a hurry a slow charge is much better for the life of the battery, I use the cable for charging and car play.

Yes, I'm not as critical about certain things when I pay less. To quote noted philosopher Cyndi Lauper: "Money changes everything". ;)

In this case I would probably be annoyed by the non functioning USB, but not to the extent of having my vehicle at the shop for 2 months, and certainly not resorting to money, guns and lawyers in a lemon law attempt.

It is at 2nd dealer, neither can fix it and both reached out to ford engineers for help and did not get a response. USB on dash works, but not ideal having a cord hanging from dash and I would like to connect by wire to entertainment. Yes I use Bluetooth, but CarPlay lags with Bluetooth and works better wired. There has been 5+ visits to dealers and well over 60 days under repair. If there is an electrical issue Ford can’t figure out, I am not going to just ignore it. There are other little issues I have ignored, but this is big enough that I would like ford to fix it.
So you are saying the USB in the console does not connect to the entertainment system???

Mine does not connect either. Never has, but from my understanding it is not supposed to. It is charge only! Edit: I might be crazy but I swear I read that it is charge only somewhere!?!?

Sorry not the console, I am referring to the usb outlet underneath the entertainment screen that should connect to the entertainment

Try another dealership? Every state has kooky laws on this. Florida is pretty cut and dry. Keep moving forward and good luck!!
Dealership has absolutely zero to do with your lemon law claim. It's between you and the manufacturer. Getting an attorney involved should be standard practice once you meet your state's requirement. You will do better and waste less of your own time by far. I know from recent experience...

Do you regularly pay for goods and services you do not receive? ;)

I just do not believe how many people think this is okay. If your car doesn't work right and the manufacturer cannot fix it during your warranty period you are legally entitled to these protections...

I would argue that not a single person is "okay" with this. I think it just sounds a little extreme to lemon law a vehicle when the USB doesn't work. It's not right and Ford should fix it period. I probably wouldn't return a vehicle for that, I would find a work around. Wireless Android Auto/Carplay is so much better any way.
