This is what the variety of dash mounts available are for!

Not a bad choice if you don't want to go in that A-pillar for sure.

Ford Bronco Oil Pressure Gauge Install 20250918_164119

I would almost prefer a steering column cover mount down with the other gauges, but the A-pillar is where my LWN iDash lives, so I'm use to looking there anyway.

I've been watching this thread as oil pressure is of interest to me. The value of gauges for us old school guys is you learn what normal is then when you see something abnormal, you can take potential action (like oil thinning out, engine running warmer than your used to, etc.).

In post 40, the painted gauge pod shows an oil pressure of 20 psi (I assume it was hot idle). I've read the engine PID for oil pressure and got 60 inHg using a scan tool which calculates to 29.4 psi. Usually absolute pressures are used by the ECM so you need to subtract off atmospheric pressure to get a gauge pressure. At my elevation that is 10.1 psi so I calculated my gauge pressure at 19.3 psi. That matches his photo.

20 psi at hot idle isn't unusual for variable displacement oil pumps (cafe and all that jazz). The only question I have is the person that posted the pic said earlier that his hot idle pressure was 26-28 psi.

I would like to know if the PID I'm reading is actually absolute pressure (like I assumed) or not. If anyone has access to oil pressure, what are you seeing at hot idle?

I misspoke about the hot idle pressure. I was trying to recall from memory, which is not as good as it used to be. The gauge really reads 19.5psi +/- at hot idle. I think your calculations are correct. The pressure seems to be partially tied to boost pressure. It goes up as boost increases. I see 24-25psi boost when I'm getting on it.
