New 2026 with KO2 issues

I bought a brand new 26 Bronco raptor and when I got on the free way a few weeks later experienced very slight vibrations (felt radially, up and down) on freeway around 70-75mph. Did some research and seems KO2s are known to have defective tire issues. Took it to two different hunter road force balancing shops and the second one (first one was a joke) showed me two of the tires even after they flipped the tires around shows road force of mid 40s. They moved those two to the rear for now. So after money out of pocket balancing twice and scratches on wheels on a brand new car (from balance shops) now I need to figure out what to do about these tires. Anyone have experience with warranty claims for bad KO2 tires? How long does that take? Or did you just go to different tires? Thanks in advance. What a pain for a brand new car.

More of a tire shop issue than tire issue (from what I've gathered). People say the same about the Ko3 (newer replacement) but just not the truth. It's all about the shop, their ability and equipment.

The first shop issue for sure, second shop knew what they were doing and was actually able to get it down from 50s. But once you start trying to match bad tires with worst wheels.. you can only do so much from what I’m seeing if you start with a really bad tire in the 50s (one started at 54 road force).

You must be very unlucky. I have used the original BFG AT tires, KO2, KO3 and KM3 tires since around 1979 and have had zero issues with them. A rare occasional puncture but that happens with any tire.

The tires I had problems with was Pro Comp 32" MT. They were good for around 15K miles but started needing to be balance quite often. At less than 30K miles the vibration could not be balanced out any more because 3 of the tires were too far out of round from the belts breaking. Went back to BFG and am still running them.

Glad to hear you’ve had good luck with them. Yea it sounds like bad batches are a thing.

Take the vehicle back to your Ford dealership immediately. Because your Bronco is brand new, Ford’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty covers 100% of tire replacement costs for factory defects (including excessive road force) during the initial Bumper-to-Bumper period, completely free of charge.

I had C Load K02s on my Wildtrak and no one could get them balanced right after the first 5k miles. Including the specialist shop I use for my sportscar wheels. The tire guy there (who has helped me with numerous sets of tires over the last 10 plus years and works weekends at a Discout Tire) told me that he gets more complaints about the K02s and 3s than other tires and recommends the Open Country AT3 for overall use here in South Texas. Discount replaced 2 tires and that helped for a little while but it started to come back a few thousand miles later. My 2026 BRaptor is ok right now at just over 2k miles.

This was my thought also. Weeks old? Why would you not take it in to the dealer for a complaint?

I was actually looking for insight into the process of a warranty claim for tires and how long it takes etc with Ford, and how long I’ll be without a car. Guess I’ll report back.

You won't be out a car. You'll keep driving yours or worst case, you'll get a free rental.

Also, your Ford wheels are incredibly well balanced as they are forged and CNC machined.

This has got to be a troll account. If not, why would ANYONE not go back to the dealership first since the vehicle is BRAND NEW?
