The jeep just feels dated to me but is one tough bird in the dirt.I picked the 2 door Base manual just to have a fun little truck to play with around town, take the tops off sometimes, and still good in the snow. The reality is it will probably never see off road in its life with me. Maybe pull a small trailer now and then. My brother back in the day had a Mitsubishi Montero 2 door 1984. Kind of the same as the Bronco, maybe smaller. That thing was all over the place with the short wheelbase and solid axles, slow, and easily rusted. The Bronco is stable to 80mph, quiet, and tracks perfect. It feels like it has a longer wheelbase than it does. Drove a rental Jeep in Hawaii last year. Nice vehicle, but it just seemed cheap after having it for a week
Ford should be required to open a clinic to assist Bronco addicts to control this addiction. At 56,000 I'm now trying to keep the mileage down on this $38,000 beast. But it's a daily driver, and it's so fun to drive...![]()
So you have lockers?Nice! I love the base, 2 door, manual with the steelies. Looks the most retro of all the Broncos to me. Manual transmission and 2 door- rare for sure. Must be so fun to drive- and no huge tires to bog it down. I love base myself- my Bronco being a 2 door base with only 2 options- Sasquatch and 2.7. I really wanted a manual but none offered with the 2.7. The 2 door base is the lightest of all the Broncos in weight- and when I ordered at the reveal I wanted 2 door, light weight and the largest engine. I had to have the Sasquatch- it was a deal back when the Bronco was revealed. Can't go wrong for 38K I paid. 3.5 years later, only mods are Rock Rails and MBRP CAT back exhaust. It moves when pushed but I drive it slow and light footed, it's not a race car, LOL. With the MBRP exhaust my average MPG is so decent at 23. Base 2 door, way to go!
Yes the Sasquatch package has front and rear lockers included. At the time it was a bargain to get the Sasquatch package- and you could get it on the base. It included the lockers, 35" tire package, drive modes with the stronger transfer case and the 4.70 gearing for the large tires. It was a 6K option if I remember right. All that and the 2.7 V6 for 38 or 39K. I had to wait 2 years to get it though after I ordered it.So you have lockers?
But that was with the auto tranny right? Seems to me when i looked at the base it didn't come with the sas option.....I must have missed it....Yes the Sasquatch package has front and rear lockers included. Thanks. Maybe i will have to order one. I'm kinda thinking jeep again because it gets better gas mileage ands it does have a phevyep you can get the sas with any trim level.
Yes, the V6 is only available with automatic. And at the time of the reveal the 4 cylinder base you could not get Sas with a manual- that came later. But that was with the auto tranny right? Seems to me when i looked at the base it didn't come with the sas option.....I must have missed it....![]()
