I now have absolute respect for those who can get a base model and keep it a base, wheels and all. I found I was not strong enough to avoid temptation and change things on mine. It did turn out like I wanted, but there is absolute charm in keeping a base as simple as possible to honor it's past from the first generation it was modeled after. There is another in my neighborhood in ingot silver, 2 door, base with a manual from 2021 the first year. He has actually worn down his original pizza cutter tires, imagine that. The pizza cutters match nice with the silver Bronco. I bet there are just a handful who ever accomplish that, the pizza cutter gang, my membership was revoked.

Those tires may surprise you. They remind me of the old Army jeeps which could go anyplace.....Even the old videos of Model T Fords going over rocks mud and climbing steep rocky terrain with skinny almost smooth tires.

Have we really gone any where? Even electric is not new when most heavy trucking back then was electric.

Thanks for posting this!! So there we have it: where we see the asterisk under the "Trans." and "Drive" columns are what we are missing in the GOAT modes as 7MT owners with in base trim. What we get is changes to traction control, throttle, steering, grille air dam and exhaust. Of course we're also missing two GOAT modes altogether.
Yes but the baha mode only gets you faster throttle responce no big loss..besides it mimic's sport mode which base has

Congrats! I picked up my 2025 Base on Friday! They're so much fun and hard to keep stock! I'm trying to figure out if I want to install a larger tires on the stock steelies or pick up a set of take offs? Decisions...

You are on the clock. If you go 10 days without changing anything I think it will be a record. The 2025 Broncos went to 433mhz so have to consider tire pressure monitors if you have take offs from 2024 or before, ask me how I know. 19mm socket for the lugs 100 ft lbs torque. Disable the seat belt bonging with sequence in the manual. Bite down on a stick and try to hold yourself back, I dare ya. You will break too like I did and modifying thoughts fill your brain..... Just keep telling yourself you are keeping all the old parts to go back to stock someday. That white Bronco is like a virgin in a white dress and you are the sailor that has been out to see for a year. Just sayin...
I did not know what color to pick. I thought silver base would match up nice, then maybe black and timeless. I had greens back in the 90's I was fond of but Marsh Gray was a gamble with no pictures or colors shown at the time. I really like my surprise color picked with the Marsh Gray. Antimatter blue was a favorite but they got rid of that early in 2021 or 2022 I think. White will always be OJ.

It was down to the Oxford White Bronco I bought or a Velocity Blue one. The dealer with the white Bronco offered a much better deal so I went with it. My last two Tacomas were white and my '91 Toyota 4x4 is white. I guess it's just become my color. You really can't go wrong with any color on the Bronco!

Well thought I would change oil today with 700 miles on it. I usually do first one at 1000 then on the 5000 marks after that. Seems to work in the past and I get 400,000 miles out of my gas engines from Ford. The 2.3 is "newer" for 2025 with direct and port injection now. Who knows what else was changed. I know under the hood, they look different than the 2024's did a bit.
I should have read the manual but that would make sense. It is only electronic now in the dash memory. My dealer at Ford parts gave me FL-207 oil filters. OK they would know right? Went to the oil change place with the filter and my 6 quarts of Ford full synthetic. Dumped and filled oil and then pulled off the assembly line filter. The filter I had would not fit, hole too small to thread on. Ok then just give me the house brand for now until I figure it out. The one they list, hole too small too. Pulled the original out of the trash, dumped the oil out of it and re-installed. Napa, don't have 2025 Broncos listed yet. Yes, go to the in dash manual. Calls for a FL-2127. Nobody has one on a Sunday with Ford closed. Dig online a bit. The FL-500s has the right threading and hole and says is a good substitute but I wonder why they just don't use that one since it is good on the 3.5, 5.0. 3.5 ecoboost engines. I have some FL-500s in my "stash". I also have some that Ford said are the same but now have a new number FL-2121 812 that were the new number for the FL-500s. So a FL-2127 = FL-500s = FL-2121-812? The FL-207 I know won't work. I think the FL-500 were discontinued from what I learned from my dealer when I tried to get more of them. The 2.3 engine says it takes 5.6 quarts. I just put in 6. It is on the full mark so not worried about it. Not sure what the factory fills these with on the assembly line in the way of oil type or viscosity. Seems to be a bit quieter now with 5-30 synthetic from Ford. I guess you are supposed to get to the filter from the driver's side wheel well opening. My base does not have skid plates up front under the engine so it is easy to get to it above the front drive shaft by reaching up through the gap. There is a nice trough to direct the dripping oil back down Ford made under the filter. Ford says I can go 10,000 miles on the original fill. I am not that brave to do that.

I was just saying the white Bronco as shown in a base was going to get worked over soon enough like all the Base ones do. Who will be the keeper of the un-molested Base model? I myself did not last long, maybe 4 hours and I was changing the shift knob and hunting down take off wheels at my dealer's back room I could buy. I have already done 10 things so far and I just hit 2 weeks of ownership. Shocks will be 11 and a hitch will be 12. Then I am done..... maybe.

I changed my oil on my 2.3L yesterday. I used a Wix filter:

https://www2.wixfilters.com/Lookup/PartDetails.aspx?Part=34462

Went with Mobil 1 5-30 synthetic; it always worked great for me and my SRT turbos. I went with six quarts, though I've seen 6.2 is the spec. I'm at 6.5K and this is the third oil change. Indeed, changing the oil within the first 1000 miles (and easy driving) is a good rule of thumb on a new engine!

You're right on the location of that oil filter: it's really hard to get at. If you try to get it at the rear well, with the wheels turned right, it's still not easy, because the plastic fastener used in the cheezy fiberboard well cover is not attached to a solid surface. I'm coming in from underneath next time. I did hear that the 2.3L can go through deeper water (by default) than the 2.7L because the alternator is located higher up. So I guess we can count our blessings on that while we wrestle with the goofy oil filter access...

Got the right oil filter on now FL-2127 for the 2025 2.3L. Ford parts at the dealer info is wrong. Break down and read the manual in the dash for proper part numbers, it did not kill me. Up from the bottom not the wheel well since I don't have skid plates blocking access on the Base. Ford 5-30 full synthetic 6 quarts ( I know it calls for 5.6 but I will live dangerously) full on dipstick and not over. Set and forget.

Did the Auto Stop Eliminator today also $100. Easy, took maybe 5 minutes to do. Watched the video twice and got my 7mm socket and slim pry tool.
Under the climate control above the console is a small thin panel to remove with the pry tool.
Pull down glove box and 7mm attached to center climate control pod gets removed.
Pull down kick panel under steering wheel to get to the other 7mm bolt holding the climate pod.
Bolts out, pull the climate pod down and toward yourself to free from clips. Sure beats all the Phillips screws I knew back in the 80's on Fords for every single piece.
Behind the autostop button unclip the harness and place the Eliminator in-line between the switch and harness you just pulled.
Zip tie around module to keep from rattling attaching it to it's own harness.
Like Lego's when I was a kid, snap it all back together and put the 2 bolts back.
I now don't have to do the 3 inch reach from 3rd gear to hit the button now with my finger. 1st world problem I know. Like I said before... Now I am done....

At the oil change place, the owner was there. Got the nod of approval from another Gen-X when he saw the stick shift. He said it reminded him of his youth when stick shifts were abundant from all the manufacturers then. Automatics back then were the crappy consolation prize since they were slow and buzzy mostly 3 speeds and hurt mileage bad in small cars.

After all the things I have done in 2 weeks so far, It is not really a Base anymore. For me personally, I did not really want or need a higher trim. I just wanted a manual to scratch an old itch and this thing does it well. As I close in on 1000 miles, all my old fine stick shift motor skills have come back as I remember all the fine movements and timing to shift smoother than an automatic when I want limiting clutch slip to an absolute minimum or none other than 1st gear. I would float gears on past vehicles at times but I don't want to risk it at all on my new toy.

Excellent! I had the same experience going back to a stick after a six month hiatus with a Bronco Sport automatic: feels like home again. There really is something to that "muscle-memory" claim. Enjoy.

Hit almost 100 humid degrees here in Chicago today. The A/C on this base 2 door absolutely rocks the cold air. It was dumping condensation on the ground faster than me at 2am in the bathroom. I thought maybe I got short changed by not having the rear vents the 4 doors do for 2025 and maybe because I have a manual also might delete the rear vents, but in reality, even without recirculation, it is a small igloo. I ordered my weighted stainless shift ball to try out next week. I will see what all the fuss is about weighted shift knobs. I have the Twisted Shifter set up already so I can swap balls in about 30 seconds. Typing that line seemed a bit rude.... I had a 2003 Mustang Mach 1 back in the day. It had I think the aluminum shift ball that in the sun would brand your right hand with a shift pattern if you were not watching. My current white polymer shift ball holds no heat in the sun. My only reservation about a stainless one parked in the sun. We will see. I loved that Mach 1 manual, but it would sometimes lock you out of 3rd when I would red-line it out of 2nd and that 4 valve 4.6 would rev forever pulling harder the whole time. One of the cars I wish I had never sold. Just rolled it's first 1000 miles on the Bronco. It has been getting a bit smoother with the break in. The next 100 miles I run it hard as I can, red lines and high boost whenever possible.
