Hey guy's I just watch a robot voice YouTube video about the return of the Base trim in 2025... Not looking to purchase as I currently have a 2 door Badlands that I love...

But in the video it mentions that the tires were wrapped around 16" wheels... has any one heard this info and can you confirm... My desire is to get 16" wheels and some sort of old style bullet wheels in the future... but i thought the wheels had to be 17" to clear brakes and stuff..

Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer:)

Yes Base non-sas has always been 16" grey steelies.

I wouldn't go far as saying every single 16" wheel is going to clear the brakes, but most aftermarket probably should with good offset.

I think the base no squatch initially came with 16 inch steel wheels but I could be wrong

Check Craigslist/FB, people were pretty much giving away the 16"rims with 30" tires.

I got a 2Dr Base (2022). It had 16"/30 wheels/tires.

I sold them and got the 18/32s of an OBX.

I think I sold mine for like $450 including the TPMS.

I thought about keeping the steel rims and painting them white, but I'm just too lazy for that. One of the guys out here and on youtube... kept the steel rims, painted them white, and put 33s on them (I think). Looked nice!

I personally love the base and glad it is back. It looks so retro in 2 door form and with the 16" steelies. And with the manual, even better. Makes for a great commuter. I have read that guys with the 2 door manual and the 16" steelies have reported over 30 MPG with this set up- and I believe it. And yet it is still a capable machine. My first Gen 1 Bronco was a base and had 15" steelies 3 on the tree 170 CI six only 100 HP with street tread tires. It took to some pretty bad trails and hill climbs and it tackled almost all of them. Granted I had to back down some of the hill climbs but still the current Gen Bronco has so much more power and should be able to get into the back country no problem.
