My keys are blanks?

Hi - I popped my tops, then went to lock the center console and glove box with my physical keys within my key fobs. Both keys are solid sided "blanks", or so it appears. I just came from a Ranger and my wife has a Bronco Sport, and both had unique cutouts on the sides.

My are smooth from end to end and wouldn't fit into the keyholes - did something get missed?

They forgot to cut your keys. hopefully if you have your code card they can pull it off there and cut your keys.

That's a good point - I also noticed that I haven't seen the code card (though we have the one for my wife's car).

Looks like a trip to the dealer is in my future. Only had it for about 5 weeks, was shocked to see this.

look under the steering wheel pull the cover back and see if its in the fuse box area

No card needed. Dealership can easily fix this and cut them without it.

i thought that code card related to the ECU security code for keyless entry, not for the key cut pattern. Ford probably knows the key pattern based on the VIN.

That card is only for the Securicode system. Nothing to do with the keys.

Did you purchase the Bronco “ new”? If it is used then possibly the previous owner acquired replacement fob/ keys and had the fob programmed but didn’t get the keys cut.

That card is only for the Securicode system. Nothing to do with the keys.

Yeah, from my understanding the card, is for when you have the keyless pad system. Though I did see one in the fuse box cover, but I don’t have a keypad, so not sure what it’s for. Hell, I don’t even remember if I put it back or not. Lol
