You could also get an extended shift knob. The throws on my track car are short, but the knob is placed higher for ergonomics.

It's cable actuated, not directly connected...I’m guessing it’s a pretty short throw. Shorter than a T18 or a ZF. Given it is raised and the transmission is up in the body a bit, it’s likely to be decently short.
