Buying a vehicle and trading it in a year or two later is one of the most financially irresponsible things you can do. You're just eating the steepest part of the depreciation curve possible. It honestly blows my mind that people actually do this. I got my bronco in 2021 for MSRP and I hated paying sticker with no discount. I don't anticipate the SUV leaving my garage anytime before 2028 and as long as it keeps going like a champ it will likely stay there for much longer without being traded in.

If it’s just the colour and hardtop that bother you on what you have now something tells me if you sell and pick up a 2025 you might have thoughts again of selling at another big loss for the refreshed bronco that maybe out for 2026 model , focus on something else and enjoy current ride and your next buying experience will be a enjoyable one knowing you showed some constraint

The Bronco is caught in a double squeeze - overall market readjustment + supply glut.
Yes and it's happening to multiple models that once were high-resale kings... Tacomas, Wranglers, Tundras, etc. Supply is high and discounts are large.

Fantastic advice, I think that's where I'm at. Thank you

I agree on the suspension mods. When I was looking for a Wrangler a few years ago I'd pass on them if they had a lift. Who knows how it was done????

In regard to value... Get an offer from Carmax, Carfax, or some other dealer you can easily get an offer from. See what your Bronco is really worth (dealer cost) on the open market.

And... you should have haggled for more before you ordered a new one... OR if you can cancel your order do it, and start over. Once you have an order in with a dealer... you've loss a lot of leverage.

Just my 2 cents.

High-interest rates have a ripple effect on the market, especially since a large percentage of buyers use financing, even when they could pay cash. Why? Their money often earns more staying invested than the interest they'd save paying outright. Meanwhile, dealers face daily accruing interest on vehicles sitting on the lot, floating customer payoffs, and sometimes waiting months for lien releases from lenders. In such a volatile market, this delay can be nerve-wracking.

Trade-ins are another challenge. Their value is only as good as what they bring at auction today unless there’s a specific buyer ready to pay a premium. Anything above auction value is speculation, often another dealer absorbing discounts to move an overpriced or slow-moving vehicle.

Picking vehicles with resale in mind is key. Our swaps prove that smart choices can keep you ahead, even in a challenging market. You have to do business with who you can trust and speak your intentions and what your trying to accomplish over the long haul.

Hey everyone, wanted to share my experience here in case it helps anyone. Purchaed a '23 Hot Pepper Red Bronco at invoice price last October (roughly 62k). I added about 15k in accessories (paint protection, leveling kit etc), and it has 10k miles on it.

Took a shot in the dark and ordered a new '24 Wildtrak with the painted top. Dealer offered me 43k for mine (Bluebook shows a range of 53k to 60k). Dealer is only offering me 43k for it, and in getting other offers the best I've gotten is 45k. I';m told this is because the market is flooded with Broncos.

Is this consistent with anyone else's experience?
My experience is the stealerships don't use any of the databases that the general public has access to. They go by what they can buy the vehicle for at auction.

I don't think I've EVER seen a dealer offer BlueBook value on a trade. In fact, every one of them has probably said to me "We don't go by BlueBook".
We got above the top end of the blue book value for our 18 explorer sport. And multiple rebates on the new replacement. It's just all about the market and how badly the dealer wants to move certain models

There are two Bronco's at a local Subaru dealership, both it appears were bought at "Auction". First one I looked at was a 2023 Black Diamond with the manual transmission. I drove it and liked it, but not the price and the big tires. Didn't drive the automatic Big Bend till today. Both are low mileage one with less than 1k and the other at 6K that has had 3 owners so far.

If I could take the wheels and tires and the roof off the Automatic to put on the manual I think I'd make an offer. The sales person said that's not going to happen. He also said if they are not sold in 20 days they will be shipped to Texas. Not sure what that means.

I will keep looking.

I got an offer today for my '22 Badlands, soft top, 7spd, mid package for over $33k from Driveway dot com. Its got over 50k miles on it. I think its time to shop for a leftover two door with the 2.7 in it.

My son bought a new '23 Big bend, V6, auto, hard top, mid package back in February 2023, paid sticker a$47K.
he sold it last month with 22K miles to a used car dealer for $36K, that was the best offer he could get for it. He put it on autotrader and couple out of state buyers were interested but opted for the local dealer sale.

Someone may have posted but try the Kelley Blue Book instant Cash Offer. Much older vehicle but I had a 2012 F150 a few years ago with 150k miles and they offered me more than anyone would pay Private Party.

That is more than a lifetime ago. Absolutely no chance that is happening now.
