Yes, the market is flooded with new Broncos, my local dealer has over 50. Yes, modifications while cool to you actually make the vehicle less appealing, I would never buy one. And yes, new Broncos are being sold with huge discounts, I can show you a $99k Raptor brand new for $82k. Bottom line, the fun is over, your Bronco is a quite normal depreciating asset!
You're mostly right. What happened was I ordered a Wildtrak in '21 with the painted top, couldn't get it, then had my truck sit from April til October on the lot until I received it. LOVED IT, Antimatter blue..... Last October, someone ran a stop sign and that truck was totaled. I rushed out and bought a new '23 in Hot Pepper Red and not only had to go out of pocket to get it but spend thousands getting it back to where the first one was. Now I ordered a '24 Wildtrak with the gloss black top and thought I'd be a bit closer to being able to afford it. Kinda a shitty deal all around for me. I miss that Antimatter blue pretty hard.....
Right, but my dealer isn't willing to reduce the price of the new Wildtrak WHATSOEVER outside of the measly $2,500 that the factory is offering. I guess it makes more sense to let it sit on the lot for months with the others they can't sell?
I don't think the math works this way in CA.. where you pay tax @x.yz% on the sale price instead of the sale price minus trade-in value
My local dealer has the same 3 Raptors on the lot for the last year. Not sure about the details or what they’re asking but I know they’re an ADM dealer and now they are gonna eat it. A “new” 23 is just a low mileage “old” Braptor as soon as you Register it. Depreciation will be huge.
Basically, that's exactly what I found when I was comparing a 2025 Base against the used market. Used Base Broncos were pulling just under $5-10k less than a used Badlands Lux, in some ways it was downright crazy because I couldn't find a cheap used Base, and a used Badlands was about the same price as a 2025 Base, and cheaper than a 2025 BaseSquatch.
I am going to give you some very good advice. KEEP THE ONE YOU HAVE. You have modified it to your liking. Spent a lot of money. YOU ARE GETTING HOSED BY THE DEALERSHIP. You are throwing your money away. Have your existing top painted.
Yep, dealers use NADA which is going to show a lower value. The OP is getting around what he should get in a trade according to NADA. I did a generic 23 Bronco 4 dr with standard features and came out to $44,785. Your mileage may vary.
This is stupid, the tax benefits are there no matter what. It’s not like he gets no benefit of lower taxes if the give him more for his used Bronco. If they offered him 50k the taxes would be even less, $1k. Some people are just clueless with numbers and benefits, this coming from me, a retired accountant.
Yup, got a quote to get my current top painted for $800. My only other issue is that I don't really like the red color, but I wasn't entirely sold on the white one I was getting either. What I REALLY wanted was Antimatter Blue, but I wasn't going to put down 38k for a 2 year old first year Bronco with 40k miles on it.
