Has anyone purchased and installed the low profile crash bars ? Considering them so we can accommodate a larger tire on Big Bend model.
icon makes one but would love opinions of others who haves used them.

I have a set.

Uhhh... well... yup.

Not really a whole lot to say beyond that. Crash bars are obviously designed to protect the driver/passenger during a crash, but it isn't like I'm about to turn myself into a crash test dummy to see if the low-profile versions actually work.

Makes sense
I'd recommend removing the crash bars and adding covers like below (aesthetic and minimizes dirt/rocks getting in). Why add a mini crash bar that hasn't been tested or engineered to meet OEM intentions?

dont care about aesthetics, I won’t be removing bars unless I find a safe option.

35s = safe to Ford. What size are you going with?

I have the 4WP version, put them in my WT. Don't care if they've been tested "to OEM standard" hopefully something is better than nothing. Lots of info out there on crash bar data

I agree in general about after-market companies lack of testing but I think it’s safe to say a structural solution is better than a cosmetic solution.

35” 315s with SAS wheels to be precise. If you are buying thinner tires (35” 15.5s) then modified crash bars might be the safest bet. It is entirely possible tire width extending beyond the frame enough is more important that diameter. Might even be likely.

Any single reported incident involving a sasquatch model that doesn't have the bars that the outcome would have changed if it had the bars?

Ford removes the crash bars when they install 35s does that mean the bronco is suddenly not safe purchased from Ford?

An F150 is probably safer than any Bronco. So you could go that route.

How large do you want to go? 33’s will probably clear the stock crash bars.
