I'm afraid to excavate it, but doesn't seem like any sort of corrosion. It LOOKS like an old school rust bubble but it's not. Very porous and you can see the primer through the paint. I also thought maybe a clear coat defect but it's gray inside the little craters, so there's paint missing as well.What do you think that is on the lower door corner, corrosion forming underneath the paint? Hard to believe, given the vehicle is new. Or perhaps some contaminant/panel glue that got underneath before applying paint?
You may be right with the glue theory.
How this got out of the factory is beyond me, it was pretty obvious to me so you'd think a final QA Inspector would have caught it.
I also have a very small piece of trash in the clear coat on the drivers side rear quarter panel directly behind the door handle (right in the body line).
