...or shatter your windshield, slash your tires, slash your soft top, key your car...literally anything could be done if a vandal is so inclined.
or they could just put it on a flatbed and take it to somewhere quiet, where they can really go nuts on it :-D

when I got to see two Broncos at my dealer I asked the 'team' about that, the door does not lock. I prefer that, as I might add that keypad thing down the road (if it fits in there).

At least you can't unlatch the hood from the outside like the competitor that gives anyone complete access to everything in the engine bay

Just make sure you have a funnel for a capless fuel filler, in case you need to use a gas can. They are a pain to pour gas into from a standard nozzle.

Add in these new, "spill proof" gas cans, and I am happy I have never run out of gas on the road. My experience is from the safety of my home, pouring excess hurricane prep fuel into the cars when season is over. :p

I will be making an adapter for my Military type 'jerry' cans to fit that capless filler, can you imagine the PIA is will be to 'pour' gas from a can thru a funnel without spilling it everywhere

How is this considered ok? Anyone could walk right up and easily dump something into your gas tank...
Hardly any different than someone just walking up and setting your house on fire, there’s nothing stopping them.

I didn’t think people still siphoned fuel, seems like a 20th century issue. No ones going to siphon out $50 of fuel($40 if it’s a 2 door with a full tank), and I have to imagine the last thing I would worry about is someone dumping something in your fuel tank.

I don’t recall ever even owning a vehicle with a locking gas door, my truck didn’t even have a fuel door from the factory.

My dad had a locking gas cap on his '78 van. He did that so he would stop forgetting he set the cap on the gas pump and driving off without it. The key was on the same ring as the ignition and he left it in the lock while fueling.

I thought modern vehicles had anti siphoning valves in the filler necks. Doesn't stop someone from dumping something into your tank but you won't come back to an empty one.
Most people stealing gas nowadays just drill a hole in the tank and capture in a bucket. We’ve had it happen a few times on our company ride-share vans. Most vehicles have an anti-siphon valve so a hose is useless.

I have seen the inside of every fuel door on every vehicle I have ever owned filled with snow and or dust. I do not want that **** in my fuel tank. And no, a little flap in the filler is not going to stop it.

I will happily deal with twisting a cap on and off to prevent water and rock grit from getting into my fuel system.

This is a system designed to appease people who won't go off road on an ostensibly off-road vehicle.
Oh my. This wait really has driven us crazy.

Bronco6g: "No locking gas cap? This thing can't go offroad!"

A locking fuel door isn't going to do anything for that.

Anyone have a wiring diagram for the fuel door lock? I think a separate unlock button would be just enough security.

Hi yall, I know this os a bit outdated but here's a product that finally works on our broncos. Easy install , seems pretty secure. I understand all the arguments ts against them, unfortunately for me, I got vandalized and they slashed all 4 tires and poured sugar in my tank. I got lucky the tank is on the other side making the tube long, and noticed it before running the engine too much (ran for 5 minutes to run the on-board compressor) but don't want to risk my motor again. Waiting for the diagnosis was stressful
