This post makes me want to see what happens when I exit the vehicle with it running.

I guess I'm a risk taker... We'll see.

Am I the only one that's never had a double honk happen and couldn't care less?
Hasn't happened to be either. And I don't mind Auto Start/Stop. I just assumed I was weird.

Someone on the Bronco Nation forums said the latest power-up update from this past week disabled the double-honk for them. Wanted to test that theory but I don't know how to make it double honk to begin with. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Very easy to get it to double honk. With the vehicle running and the key fob in your pocket get out and close the door.

Us manual owners don’t have the luxury of remote start so if you go out early morning to warm up the vehicle and forget to take the keyfob out of your pocket I’m sure the neighbors don’t appreciate the honking.

I thought the key had to remain in the vehicle in order for it to double honk.

No, leaving the key in the vehicle is how you prevent the honking. I’ve done it numerous times starting mine and then going to check the mail.

Nope, it’s the opposite. If you want to avoid the double honk, you have to leave the key in the car with the engine running.

It’s definitely annoying, but the point is, it’s fixable.

I need to find someone close to me with the forscan software. I’ve got a Mac and I’m computer illiterate when it comes to that stuff.

Me neither. I don't mind it. It's there to remind you that you are walking away from the vehicle powered on, with the key. Helpful if you didn't intend to leave the vehicle on or if you left the vehicle and your spouse was taking it but you had the keyfob on your person.. that could end poorly, so I like the reminder.

It might be the alarm fatigue from my work, or the hearing loss, but I've never noticed a "double honk."

Ah… I too have a manual but I start the Bronco in the morning by pressing down on the clutch with my left hand, cause I’m too lazy to actually climb into the Bronco in the morning. Bronco won’t start unless the key fob is actually in the Bronco, so it gets thrown where (I assume) the wireless charger is on Lux-packaged Broncos.

I’m kind of surprised I never got out of the Bronco with the key fob in the pocket, I’ll have to test it later today.
