Then my Bronco. Probably my last Ford unless a 69 fastback falls in my lap.

My Bronco is the SECOND Ford I've personally owned. But there have been other Fords in my life.

Ford #1 was a 1976 Ford Elite. Look it up, it's not good. I bought it used for a couple hundred bucks in the late 80s, I think. If any of you remember the 70s, well, Ford was not at their best. Everything about that car was bad.

My girlfriend/wife/ex-wife had a 1996 Ford Contour SE with the 2.5 liter V6 and manual transmission that was a blast to drive, but also not very reliable. Later she had a 2001 Ford Bronco Sport, which was fantastic in the snow but also not particularly reliable. You can see a trend here. But she worked at "Ford's" at the time so she bought Fords.

My parents had a 1974 Ford Econoline van that stranded us in Nevada one time while on a long road trip to California. They also had a 1977 F250 Ford Ranger. That truck was an absolute monster. 4-speed manual, where you only used gears 2, 3, and 4. Lots of fun with a snowplow in the winter, and when carrying a camper and towing a boat in the summer. Although in the summer you had to have a few gallons of water / anti-freeze with you because it would overheat periodically when driven normally. I also broadsided a deer and drove right over it, very little damage to the truck--like I said, that truck was a monster!

Yes, first Ford and only second American vehicle. 51 years old. First American vehicle was 1994 GMC Jimmy SLT. Beat that thing like a mule for 6 years.

First ford here, always "played it safe" with toyota/lexus products. Never realized how boring they were to drive in hindsight, haha.

Yes. The Bronco is my first Ford, but my wife owned two explorers previously. (She drives a Wrangler now.)

DpAtlanta just elevated things to a whole new level. I'm an old Ford guy, someone that can compete please stand up.
I can't compete with @dpAtlanta, but here's my Ford history and the "not brand loyal" list.

I took a break from Ford from 2006-2021, but came back as soon as the 6G was announced!

1987 Ford Bronco XL Custom 4x4 (300 Straight 6, manual 4-speed w/ granny gear)
1989 Ford Mustang LX (5.0 notchback w/ manual)
1993 Ford Bronco XLT (5.7)
1996 Ford Taurus
2004 Ford Explorer NBX - first new vehicle
2021 Ford Bronco Big Bend (4-door soft top w/ manual)
2021 Ford Bronco First Edition (4-door)
2022 Ford Bronco Badlands: (2-door SAS MIC / 2.7)

1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass Cierra
1987 Pontiac Grand Am (w/ manual)
2006 Hummer H3
2011 BMW 335is
2018 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro

This is a completely random question just to mix things up a bit. How many of you are first time Ford owners due to your Bronco?
New Fords?
- 79 F100, first vehicle bought new.
- 85 Tbird Turbo Coupe. Surprisingly great handling. Lots of fun.
- 88 Lincoln LSC, if that counts. HO V8, fast luxury touring for 2
- 92 Explorer. Meh. Room for kids.
- 94 Taurus SHO. High strung Yamaha 24V V6 fast for its day.
- 22 Bronco Badlands 2 Dr. Manual. Sasquatch. Noisy slow keeper.
First Ever Vehicle
- 62 Ford Econoline Pickup. $275

Does this mean I am Ford guy? Hell NO, each just represented a decent option for what I wanted at the time at a Ford price. I’ve owned many more other new cars to the detriment of my wallet.
- Wish I still had my 67 GTO, 63 Impala SS vert, 69 Charger 440, 99 MB E430 and my 17 Genesis G90. I loved my three Rams, especially the 2010 Cummins 4x4. I even miss my 72 Fiat 128. At 6’5” / 245 I wouldn’t now fit in my MGB or MGA.
:(

Bronco is my first new Ford. The first car I ever owned was also a Ford - a somewhat beat up used 1965 Mustang I bought for $900 while in school. Had a lot of fun with that Mustang and learned how to work on cars from it.

First Ford, first American car owned in 40 years (Mazda/Acura/Honda/Infiniti/Subaru/BMW), but I did learn to drive on a '65 Dodge A100. However, if, BITD, I could have bought a GT350 or F150 Raptor without a $20k markup I likely would have (their markups really soured me on the brand). Loved it when it came out (but didn't need one), but circumstances changed (one totaled BMW + Eruption Green announcement).

First Ford for me. I've owned/leased vehicles from Nissan, Acura, GMC, Infiniti, Audi, Jeep, VW, Land Rover, 2 Toyotas, and my Kia EV6 GT that I currently have.

Amusingly, I've always kind of been anti-Ford before getting the Raptor (for one thing, I found their interiors to just be really lacking on materials quality the last 10 years or so). I lost faith in Toyota with the 2.4L IMAX not living up to what I expected in the Land Cruiser (and figured the 2025 4Runner TRD Pro and Trail Hunter were going to be similar). I found the Broncos just to be so much more modern than the JL Wrangler also, especially when comparing the Raptor to the 392. Such a unique vehicle and can't wait to get it out to use it for what it's intended to living out west.

It's been interesting hearing people's responses despite them making me feel like a dinosaur (I had to rebuild the charging system, replace the vacuum operated fuel pump, and other things on the 1975 LTD (the predacesor to the Crown Vic) while in high school, I've had a 78 1/2 F-150 and at least 10 90s F-series trucks (pre bubble pipe '97 150, '98 heavy duty design.)
