I was in the same position, on my build it would cost me an extra $7000 over the Base to get the Mid in the BB, and the only thing I wanted was heated seats, the rest I saw little or no value in.
I had that same dilemma - I could not justify jumping up that high in price, for such a small thing, even though it’s a convenient item, I would rather have Sasquatch package instead.

We all have our different needs/wants

I’ve had my Black Diamond for a month in cold Utah. I hate bells and whistles too much crap to break. I didn’t go mid and don’t miss it. The Ford app has remote start I really don’t get all the heated seat lovers I hate heated seats just turn on the heater ? Dual climate control all the air gets mixed anyway. For me I love the basic save the money for other mods.

Keep saving and get a badlands with the high package. I got the 2 door manual with the high package and it's awesome it was 46k with the price protection so like 47k without it.

Just wondering, would a Big Bend with the mid package fit your budget. The BB manual has the same gearing as the BD if that's a need, you just can't get the locker with a manual in the BB. Just a thought as the mid package does have a lot of nice stuff in it.

My 21 black diamond has more technology that my 2012 F350 lariat. Only thing I miss a little is the dual temperature control when my wife is in the car with me. She’s comfortable from 70.5-71 F. Every other temperature is high heat or frosty ac running.

I‘ve owned both base and mid package , my take is, I love heated seats, but that’s an easy fix with Katzkin. Only other thing I really like is the BLIS but it’s not a big deal. I’d say base is all you need having had both.

#savethemanuals

Wish my wife could drive stick so I could drop mid and get the manual BD.

If you don’t have heated seats now, don’t make this the moment you capitulate and skip getting a stick shift ICON.

If you need a reason, do it for me! :ROFLMAO: …and yourself, obviously:p
That’s easy get the stick your wife will learn or not drive it 🤣. I left for a snowmobile long weekend 4 days and my wife put nearly 200 miles on mine😳.

for the OP katskin makes a nice product can add heat for less than the mid package. If that’s all your after. There are also heated seatkits out there if you didn’t want leather/vinyl seats.

You get wireless CarPlay and remote start even with base model. Base Sasquatch is the best bang for your buck imho
On my old phone I need to fire up the app which takes about 5-8 seconds. Then you can hold down the start button for another 5 seconds.

And you need to be in cell coverage.

It's useful but it's no replacement for the fob.

I don't care about the remote start. It won't work with the manual anyway. I do care about the heat seats, keyless entry, footwell lighting, auto dual AC, auto-dimming rearview mirror and the other gimmicks. It's a deal breaker for me.
