So looking to purchase 6.5 speaker pods. I was wondering if anyone had handled both IAG/Mabett and SSV. Was there any discernable difference in quality? I know IAG/Mabett are made in China, same manufacture and have a 3 year warranty and SSV, I assume is made in USA with a lifetime warranty. Trying to determine if it's worth the cost difference. Thanks.

Not one of the options but I went with the metra pods and I’m extremely happy. Had the mabbet pods first and felt they were a bit restricted.

All of those pre-drilled holes on the mounting surface (SSV pods) is unnecessary. Anyone installing drivers without a solid gasket or decoupling tape...

Hi, I have had the 6.5 inch speakers in the back since August 2023. Regardless of what you choose, the 6.5's kick ass! I went with the SSV Pods and the quality and craftsmanship is top notch. I liked the "no grille cover" side of them, didn't want to cover up the JL Audio C2650's. The SSV 6.5 inch "Unloaded" version was plug and play, for sure!

My concern with changing the rear pods is and has always been, they all appear to be too small for efficient cone travel.
What's the point of a bigger speaker in a small pod?
I wonder if the 4" with the larger standard pod may provide better sound, or at least the same.
I just changed all my speakers and added a MoBridge DSP/AMP...

As mentioned above, the enclosures are a Plug-N-Play installation which makes for a very easy install. You will notice an immediate change in sound too. We offer a lifetime warranty on our enclosures and our SSV speakers.
Feel free to DM us for a discount code too!

I personally think the SSV pods look great, especially if your speaker has good looking grills. I have not seen them in person, so can’t comment on the build quality. I did order the Mabett pods, though did not like the grill at all, and they felt cheap, they went straight back. I decided on the Metra pods as my objective was to maintain the factory look as much as possible. With the top down, the back side of the Metras look identical to stock, just a bit wider. Love the way the Metra looks, only complaint is the visibility of the wire harness behind the grill, though I used loom and gaffers tape to hide it. Only recommendation on them is to line the interior of the pods with Dynamat, and add some polyfil. MTI Acoustics also makes a good looking pod, worth checking out.
