Speaker pods... IAG vs Mabett vs SSV vs ?

i can't speak to the other brands, but my SSV 6.5" pods have been great, no issues with fitment in the 2 door bronco

I know this is an old thread, but I’m reviving it because I’ve been trying to find info on which offer the best fit for 2 door Broncos. For the IAG/Mabett ones, I keep finding conflicting information on whether they interfere with the rear seatbelts. Some say they fit fine, some say they fit but rub, some say they don’t fit at all. Could anyone with a 2 door Bronco confirm for me how they fit? As for the SSV, I haven’t found as much conflicting info, but I’d still like to hear from someone who owns them to comment on whether they interfere with the seatbelts at all as well. Same for the metra pods (or any other brands I’m missing).

I have like new Mabett 6.5s with Kicker CS already installed if anyone is interested in purchasing. Had to go back to smaller speakers because of the ford performance rear C brace I installed.

... I can also say - the upgrade from 4" to 6.5" in the rear was ... not all that significant. Maybe if I were sitting in the back seat, it would sound better back there, but from the driver's seat I couldn't really tell any difference in sound quality.... Just saying going from OEM 4" to aftermarket 6.5" in the rear didn't change the overall sound field all that much.

I agree with this partially. I would have agreed with this wholly, till I amped them. The kicker amp wakes these up; you definitely want to forscan the audio before installing the amp and rear pods. I'm using JBL which are pretty efficient, so I do hear them in the driver's seat. Use no bass blockers and you should get decent mids and highs coming from them.

My opinion (fwiw), if it's part of a project (speakers, amp, sub) it's worth it. If it's going to run off the factory radio, I'd skip it.

Haven’t done anything yet. Still not sure which I’ll do when it’s time.

I got the SSV's with the Trail Seven Alpine speaker upgrade kit and I'm very happy with them. I picked them because to me they have more of an OEM look than the others. If you didn't know what you're looking at you'd think they were factory. Fit and finish is very nice.
