Hey guys,

For those that would tell me to just search the forum... tried that. The search results were... frustrating. As such, I thank you in advance for any help you can provide beyond that ;-)

2023 Black Diamond... don't think I have LED lights but don't know how to check.

I'm looking to improve the rear lighting for when the vehicle is in reverse. I'm hoping this can be as simple as installing some additional bulbs (Halogen into LED?) in the existing lights, but I from my search results I ended up down multiple rabbit holes. It doesn't seem like this should be that difficult of a task, but I can't seem to find a straight answer either.

Once again, any help much appreciated!

We actually have a very simple kit for you. Plugs right in-line to the factory tails. You don't even need to connect anything to the upfitters (although it's optional and part of our kit IF you do want to, but you don't have to).

Check it out here: https://www.4x4truckleds.com/vehicl...ronco/auxiliary-lighting/ford/reverse-lights/

The easiest kits to install are one of these two kits, which installs under the bumper with included brackets

Diode Dynamics: https://www.4x4truckleds.com/2021-f...t-w-baja-designs-lights-kr-off-road-brackets/

Baja Designs: https://www.4x4truckleds.com/2021-f...w-diode-dynamics-lights-kr-off-road-brackets/

The next easiest kit is this one by Diode Dynamics, goes on the spare tire: https://www.4x4truckleds.com/diode-dynamics-stage-series-reverse-light-kit-for-2021-ford-bronco/

Followed by this one by Baja Designs (goes on the spare tire also but wires to an upfitter switch so no automatic activation): https://www.4x4truckleds.com/baja-designs-reverse-kit-for-2021-ford-bronco/

OR if you have a hitch w/7-pin trailer wiring, you can just throw a hitchmount pod in, quick and easy installation: https://www.4x4truckleds.com/diode-dynamics-hitchmount-led-pod-reverse-kit/

Easy peazy. $39 from Tractor Supply. Dunked these in mud, banged them on rocks. Just bent them back, wiped them off and all is good. Won't make you cry if they do get damaged.

Secondary lighting is ridiculously effective

Why didn't you take a picture of how well it lights up the area behind your Bronco? I don't often back up while staring into my backup lights. I don't know about you.

I agree with you. When people share an image of their auxiliary lights, they should show the illumination/projection and not the actual lights.

I installed BMC Slim Bar Rigid Halo Lights.

If you have the tow package, I had a Curt hitch skid plate that I attached a cheap Amazon Nilite to and wired it into the 7-pin trailer connector. Works for backing down my longish dark driveway. Now that it works, I'm going to upgrade to a Hella 6" Black Magic light bar.

This is one of my next projects.
I like the DD system. It’s just a little pricey.
I may get their mount and harness and add my own lights. 🤔

I hated all of those harness that tie into the factory hitch plug. I made my own harness using SVP taillight adapter to pickup stop, running, rev and ground. The hitch mounted C1r bright red is controlled by factory rear fog light switch.

Do you have a write up of how you did this?

Honestly, the easiest and cheapest option for you is the Alla Lighting LEDs. $25 and 30 minutes and it’s 1000x brighter.

Just depends on how OCD you are and your $ threshold. I was in telecom for 25 years and am OCD about wiring and connectors. I purchased Deutsch and Weatherpak connector kits. Honestly give SVP a call, they have a modular system and can get you what you need. Way less headache.
