How to find out if Procal was installed?

I’m picking up a used Bronco this week from a dealer and was curious if there is a way to determine if the Procal tune was already installed. Would the deleted of the auto start/stop be a clue? I was curious to see if I could start some fact finding on how to best track that down.

That’s one way to tell- unless they installed a start/stop eliminator.

Auto Start/Stop is no longer removed with the Procal tune, so it's no longer a reliable way to know.

If your dealer is a Ford dealer, ask them to print you an OASIS report. It'll list the the vehicle information, paint codes, production date, outstanding warranties, warranty coverage, warranty repair history, etc. And perhaps most important for you, it'll list if the Procal tune is installed.

Nope...all they need is the vin. can check over the phone

but what if they did not connect your car to the system after tune is installed, how is the report show it has the tune installed?

Modern Ford vehicles have cellular modems inside of them that periodically sent vehicle health reports up to Ford's database.

The same modem also enables FordPass connectivity via your cellphone app, traffic/weather information on the navigation system, etc.

I just has it installed like 1hr ago... should i wait a bit before asking the dealer? not sure how often the car send updates to Ford

Was it also that the Procal tune showed the speedo and gear markings with the yellow highlight or was that one of the aftermarket tuners? Or was that Braptor only tune - basically making the default gauge cluster look like "paddles" mode

I just had the Procal performance calibration installed at Galpin Auto Sports. I'm pleased to say I can confirm that auto/start/stop now defaults to the last setting upon start up. I repeated the test about 5 times to make sure

That’s interesting, because Ford supposedly removed that and it hasn’t been working for anyone else.

Yeah, I wasn't sure what to expect based on what I've read. I did mention to them prior that I had heard mixed info on this feature and that I wanted it enabled, if that was something they could do. Whatever happened, I'll take it

Don't know if it helps, but my ProCal ASS setting is kept. However, I had my tune done in August 2023. They did some programming a few months back, where I assume it had to be reloaded. Don't know if it would stop on older tune installs or not.

What model year??

I wonder if they reverted the changes from July after getting feedback. Or maybe they gave 2024 Broncos a different profile than 2021-2023.

I have a 2023. The performance calibration only became legal for CA in September, so I'm kind of late to the party.
