How much off-pavement duty does your Bronco see?

I’m fortunate in that my daily commute involves 6-7 miles of dirt/gravel roads.

There are times where the ride is actually better than on some of the poorly paved roads we have, and certainly much better than sitting in bumper to bumper traffic!

While these roads could be travelled in a sedan, I definitely prefer driving them in a vehicle that is in its element doing it.

Would be really cool if it was proper off-roading, but then again it doesn’t add any time to my commute, so it’s probably the best of all possible outcomes.

Anytime I have to cross the river and drive in Cincinnati, OH it should be considered off-pavement. They have some pot holes over there that could really test your suspension out.

Not as much as I would like. I'm lucky to get it off pavement once or twice a year. Kids are in sports, and sports are on the weekends. Weekends not consumed by sports are usually booked by something else already lol.

3 miles unpaved from my driveway to the road. Usually any 2wd car can get through, but sometimes the sand has built up deep and will catch a car. It’s impassible to all but high clearance 4x4s after a big rain, which catches even the kitted out subarus offguard.

I have not had mine off-road yet. I am getting it set up for long term off-road adventures. I typically spend about 4 week each year in the deep wilderness.

Daily if you count my very poorly maintained driveway that needs to be re-paved.

Otherwise... I'm going to steal @Brian_B's response (again). I think I'll just follow him around all day and say "ditto" on everything he posts.

I'm fortunate in that my property borders BLM and I'm back there almost daily on "jeep trails" with the dogs and for a fast hike for exercise. Granted, some of these can be taken in 2 wheel drive, or a Subaru, but a 1/3 you need a real 4x4 for clearance and loose traction ascents that even occasionally call for rear locker.

Within my county are a plethora of 4-7 rated trails with both fun technical driving & come with national park level views. The activists are trying to lock everyone (including themselves strangely - I guess sitting in your living room with the TV on dreaming about "wilderness" is thang ) and they have succeeded to some degree, but I suspect they have burned through the communities goodwill, at least for now.

typically twice per month in "the season", sometimes more and these would be 4LOW. Randomly I'll cut powerline trail or creek a handful of times a month.

Almost daily if you count driving the 200 ft to the barn for the night.

Besides that it's a few times a year, mostly fishing on the river in the spring, and hunting in the fall.

Mainly camping and getting to the dirtbike trails, but nothing specifically for the Bronco yet ... haven't found a good easy-rated trail around me I could do for fun without the worry of 'recovery gear' (which I don't have any)

Not nearly enough. Too much work not enough play. That's the major downside to owning a business.

Not enough…I got the bronco to get back into some 4 wheeling with some comfort for my old body, but am finding my body and the bronco are not really up to actually 4 wheeling and the trails we are able to do are just too “tame” to be of much interest to me…I keep lowering expectations….

I am off the road twice a year, but when I am off the road, I am way off the road. Not in the same way the rock crawling group is. Not super-difficult terrain, but you still need 4WD and some good ground clearance. Hopefully it will be a lot more once I retire and can do it every week instead of twice a year.

Yeah, not near as much as I'd like. That and I've gotten into mountain biking, so when I used to go 3.5 hours or so to the closest moderate off-roading and camp, etc. now I go bike the whole time. I'm on the coast, so options are limited, now.....from just a getting my Bronco dirty standpoint, it does touch the sand/gravel almost every other day at the beach (we have a park that is all sand/gravel), but that definitely does not count, I've seen Lambo's out there.

I'm hoping to buy a place in the upstate in 5-10 years and be able to 4x4 more.
