Ford Bronco HOSS 2.0 discoloration 4917

So, I was underneath my bronco looking at control arm part number and saw this discoloration on the shock. Its not oily and wont rub off. Looks like a leak but I dont think it is. Anyone else see this?

Obviously, there is no corrosion and it's not a leak. Likely residue from the manufacturing process but might be a weep. Clean it off and keep an eye on it. A weep still doesn't mean a warrantable repair.

IIRC, the weld joints there are treated with some sort of oil/sealant that attract dirt as time goes on. In other words, looks normal at this moment. Should it start a run down from there, that would be different and concerning.

The Ford warranty resivoir sleeve kits are cheap I paid USD 75 for mine that just arrived at dealer today. Will install in Jan when doing oil change.
