I would not say people were mad.... More concerned for you and anyone riding with you..... I liked it, but they were right, That was a rather dangerous location. I have done worse. I still get crap for my spare tire delete.

Actually no... Yes there is a horse there but the design of the airbag cover pushes that up and out of the way of the air bag. The center cover on the steering wheel actually has designed weak points in it so that if the bag were deployed it WILL break at that designed point. The "horse" is also vulcanized onto that cover. It will not get violently thrown off.
