I saw your post and wanted to add that I have the RC hood kit and did not like the hard abrupt clunk at the end of the opening stroke. If the struts are turned around so the shaft is down and body up (just the opposite of the instructions) they will have the opening stroke slow down in the last 4 inches of travel instead of the harsh abrupt clunk at full extenshion. There are no clearance issues. I sent an email to RC to let them know. Give it a try, you'll like it.

I don't have this problem you are speaking of. Mine functions as it was designed.

These ones created dents in my hood that I had to call a PDR guy to remove. That one is going to be a no for me.

Steeda also makes a ton of stuff for Ford Performance, just rebranded. So it's probably the same thing without the markup.

Redline tuning hood struts are my go to struts. I prefer the black ones, remove the sticker and they look OEM. Have had them on various cars going back to my 2005 Mustang GT and like the extra opening height they provide…
Also, at $99.00 and easy install you can’t go wrong…

Our PLUS system features Black gas springs and a 4 year warranty.

Our ELITE system features Stainless steel gas springs and a 5 year warranty.

Functionality they work the same. It's personal preference whether you like the Black or Stainless.
