I had contemplated removing the massive muffler and build a mount of some sort. I haven’t thought it all the way through yet. I did pick up a muffler eliminator.

I just picked it up. I didn't realize just how big and heavy it is. Trying to see what others are doing

I have one too. Great for the shop but just too big and heavy to carry on the trail. Space is too valuable. Not certain what I’m going to do at this point for an upgraded trail jack.

I don't get it. It looks like a floor jack to me. What makes it "offroad"? Besides its max height is less than 30 inches.

And if youre not on perfectly level ground...?

Dang that looks sketchy AF. At least carry a small 2x6 to put underneath the jack so you have a more stable base. You may also want to review the owners manual for proper jack placement.

Back on topic, I think most people just throw the BL jack in the cargo hold and don't permanently mount the thing.

It was solid, but already have added a block of wood to the box

I saw somewhere on here where a guy was mounting his on a HammerBuilt arm, adjusted it a few times until he got it where it needed to be.
Yeah, that jack is a big, heavy boi. It's going to consume some real estate no matter where it goes. In the end I think if you mount it outside or carry it in the cargo, it ends up being the "lesser of two evils" as far as the space you sacrifice vs. the utility of getting to it if needed.
I think the muffler replacement storage is a novel idea I haven't thought of. But at the same if you frequently come close to hitting the muffler/bumper on rocks, might not be the best case scenario.

I lift vehicles by the axle whenever possible or the swing arm . If you raise by the body you first have to fully extend the suspension before wheels lose contact with ground meaning a jack with at least 2 ' longer lift.

I have a wonderful screw operated bumper jack but none of vehicles since about 1970 come with chrome bumpers with jack slots.

That Badlands Jack is just too big, takes up too much room and adds more weight to an already heavy rig. Buy a good hydraulic bottle jack and forget it.
