GPS Displaying Weird JARGON after update

So we don't drive our Bronco that often. It sits in the shop and moves from the garage outfront everyday. That's about as much as we drive it in the winter.

Well I (Adam) have been drivnig it this week, while my F150 is getting wrapped. Looks like there was a Sync update the other day and my GPS is displaying weird Jargon now on the screens.

Anybody else see this or know of a fix BESIDES taking the truck to Ford (those guys never wanna do warranty work and expect you to wait months for an appointment)

There was just another post about the same issue. I thought it was contributed to their forscan changes, but now I’m starting to think it’s a different issue with the actual update.

Well I HAVE done some forscan changes but nothing with the GPS (I don't think)

I would assume it’s something Ford did wrong with the update then unfortunately.

Always updated doesn't mean always working or improved. I would bet my dog's life that someone at Ford wishes to break any Forscan mods with an update. Is this it? Maybe, but more likely someone pushed out a bad update. Too easy to screw up and they don't want you to be able to roll them back easily.

This belongs in a right to repair or maintain lawsuit or legislation (I wouldn't hold my breath).

Damn. I DID change APIM. Any idea what the first 2 characers should be for 7D0-03-01

I enabled it with "57xx" need to know what factory setting of "57" was as i didn't back it up.

You can look up your factory as-built data here, then just scroll down until you find the correct line of code.

Okay so i was right. I NEVER did change my "Navigation while driving" as I didn't want to mess up anything last year snice it was still untested.

Sooo not sure why my NAV screen is now displaying such jargon

Search for the forum, its a procedure for basically blowing away all the Sync4 user settings. It wipes out anything you've configured on the screen, and i believe it'll even mess up the FordPass app if you do it.

So I know this is an old thread but after we took the truck to Ford 6 months ago we still had the issue. We never had the chance to take it back but dropped it off last week.

It looks like they are replacing the entire APIM module. They are waiting for the part to come in currently.

So if anybody else is having this issue it might be a bad APIM module.

MY GUESS is that some code got corrupt when it was doing an over the air update. The weird letters i'm seeing look to be internal indicator code of some sort.

So for those curious about this... issue is STILL not fixed. I dropped off my truck a month ago to have the local Ford service center look at it. A month in now and they are STILL waiting for a phone call back from Ford's teams to help witht he issue. A PHONE CALL. The issue hasn't even been fixed or really worked on other then just a regular reset (didn't fix it) and now we aer STILL waiting going on 5 weeks (starting tomorrow).
