Front speaker splice? VS adapter

Has anyone replaced the front speakers. I ordered some kicker replacements and they don't connect with the stock harness. I couldn't find an adapter from crutchfield. Did you all bite the bullet and splice it?

I found connectors on Amazon I think… it was in a thread around here somewhere. They’re great for ease of use and convenience. But if I absolutely couldn’t find an adapter I’d splice without a second thought.

I saw someone got harnesses off of ebay with an inline bass blocker for the front speakers.

Strange Crutchfield included the harnesses for free when I purchased the speakers.

I ordered my replacement speakers from Crutchfield & they included the correct harness for free.

Harness was OOS when I ordered mine at Crutchfield, just tapped into the factory wires.

Hoel Wiring makes harnesses that are compatible with the Ford connections. I used them when the Metra harnesses (which is what Crutchfield supplies) were out of stock.

You will want a bass blocker for those... This is the easy way:

I bought my speakers from crutchfield too and added the free adapters to the cart but then they called me the next day and said the adapters were out of stock. I didn’t want to wait so I just spliced without a second thought.

I make the units selling on eBay. Have straight leads for use with a DSP, 300Hz, and 600Hz available. I also recently started making the kick panel adapters with sub-woofer taps.

I used the Fastdaddy adapters from ebay for the dash and pod speakers both and they work great. 100% plug and play.

I think plugNplay kits also has the pigtails for the dash & kick panel speakers. Not sure if it requires purchase of the speakers through him though. I bought my amp and sub components from him but sourced my speakers & pigtails between crutchfield & amazon.. personally have zero desire to tap the OEM harness for anything.
