Front Camera Showing Black on Screen

Mine is doing this as well intermittently. usually a shut off and restart gets it back, if not, sitting a few hours it will come back when i get back in. I'll add it to the list of things to have the dealer look at when I take it in next week...

Tech hasn't been able to duplicate the issue on mine, its there a few more days for other things so maybe they'll catch it. They also somehow weren't able to duplicate the windows rattling when partially down.

Well my camera came back over the weekend but I still dropped it off at the dealer, and luckily the tech was able to pull codes and said the camera was bad, so they're replacing it today under warranty. I wonder why they can't figure out the issue on yours? So weird how it varies from dealer to dealer.

That is wierd. Mine will be blank when i start, then i can drive somewhere 10 minutes away and then it will work again. Or i can shut it off and restart and it will sometimes come back.

What is also wierd is that I am under the recall for the rear cameral and software, but have never experienced any of those issues.

I'm under the recall too and never had a rear camera issue, but service told me the parts aren't available for that yet.

Ive been waiting for the rear camera reall to be available (although Ive never had rear camera problems). my front camera has been intermittently going black, more frequently and for longer periods as of lately. has there been any common causes with the front while I wait on the dealer?

Mine started doing it more often again after a software update, then last week there was another update and it hasn't done it since then. still pretty intermittent though.

Ok. Mine usually turned back on when I’d park and restart, but I’m going on two days with this one. I was going to rest sync this morning and see if that helps. I haven’t had an update in a long time.

Mine was intermittently black, but was working fine when I dropped it off at the dealer. They checked and said it had a fault and replaced it right before my 3/36 ended.

They call out rear camera, but don't specify front ones, but I would assume so.

Thanks. I tried a reset. Will try the battery. Not sure I can get to the harness without taking a lot apart. Will call the dealer if battery doesn’t fix it. All the other cameras are fine and no warnings. Just black front screen.

I had the same issue with my 2022 Badlands. It was showing a 31 code - non communication with the module. The front camera is bad and needs to be replaced. It is a common problem with the Bronco's and the F series pickups.
They will replace and recalibrate the 360 cameras. Less than an hour total.
