Sure, but the whole point was to use them toward a hardtop and ford still can't get their S together with that. That'd be like if you used an airline reward to fly to a certain destination, and only fly too that destination, and then they took that destinatio

I did receive those emails, but I get spam blasted by ford on a weekly basis, so all of those just get sent to spam... ugh...
It was to pay us for in inconvenience of not getting what we originally ordered. It was never going to be enough money to buy the mod top later.
I used mine for a stack of parts and accessories.

I made sure to use mine because I would get email reminders from Ford to use them before they expire.

You, not the dealer, have to accept the terms and activate through the radio. If not done, no points. They are basically paying you to allow them to collect your data which now is being revealed that the info is being shared (probably sold) with Insurance Companies for instance. You have to accept the terms or forfeit the points.
Not was referred to on the call with Ford. They specifically said 'the dealer' did not set up something upon vehicle initiation.

Thank you!

I did not know that rewards points expired.

after reading this, I stopped by my local dealership to buy an o-ring. I was told my rewards points was set to expire September of 2025 and after my $4.78 purchase using my reward points, my expiration date moved to April 2026.

I went around to clean out my email spam box today and noticed that Ford had cleared out all of my 262k ford reward points on March 19th ($1,300 worth!! - I purchased the bronco after a 571 day wait from reservation till delivery on 3/19/22 - I never got to use a single point). I called their Ford rewards customer service number, and said I would even be willing to open a Ford credit card to get the points back, but to no avail. (Sorry I didn't check this Ford - but you spamblast like crazy, thus this email reminder went to spam - and I missed the only important email I've received in over a year). The entire point of the reward points was to use it toward a hard top if I made the switch to a soft top (I had the modular top on order back before March of 2021 - and switched to a softtop on their promise), and they are just now allowing a few bronco customers to order the hardtop. Since my vehicle was last serviced at a dealership over a year ago (3/15/23 for windshield warranty work), they said too bad - kick rocks - we're keeping that $1,300 from you. I can live with losing out on $100 or so, but $1,300, come on!! It's not like there was ever a use it or lose it clause mentioned when receiving the points - I figured i was slowly losing it to inflation anyways.... I'm so sorry Ford that I can change my own oil, air filters, and rotate my own tires...

I write this post to inform anyone who reads it that Ford will wipe those points from your account too if you don't do anything with them for over a year - amazing vehicle - terrible customer service.

See, that $17 bolt you got off Amazon for $1.03 a year ago you shoulda bought from the parts desk... That's an expensive bolt! lol

Definitely unfortunate; I know I'd be ticked. Wondering how it ended up in spam folder (if Ford or their contractor is correctly doing the headers for it to not get filtered). Also, I thought it was two years.

How did you get so many points? I got around $200 for the purchase w/data activation. Did you end up spending other money that pushed that amount up? It seems like if you were earning more points, they should've been moving the expiration date for each purchase. But maybe that all happened at the time of vehicle purchase?

Anyhow, it sucks. I had something similar happen (only a few hundred) on a credit rewards program years ago, so I tend to take it as soon as I can now.

And all the people saying, oh yeah they gave you something for free so they can take it back. Yeah, I don't buy that. Like gift cards paid for with hard cash that have aggressive expiration dates, they're taking back money you gave them. Accounting-wise, they book that money eventually as profit more than likely. These loyalty schemes are incentivized to keep you at the trough.

I took it in for warranty work at a Ford dealership 13 months ago, and they said it had to be within a year.... and yeah, Ford said too bad.... I get that some points could be subtracted after two years (like a gift card), but all $1,300 worth is insane!
Warranty work does not use or earn FP points.

You also keep points by earning them. Did you not get an oil change or any maintenance in a year?

NOT in WA state ! Gift cards never expire here--because you gave them money.
Unlike these reward points that you didn`t give them anything for.

There's nothing to do maintenance wise other than oil changes, air filters, and tire rotations, all of which are an incredibly easy diy on the bronco. It'd take me a lot more time to deal with the hastle of driving out 35 miles to the dealer ship and 35 miles back...

Sounds like a " the dog ate my Homework" excuse. Fix your email. Check spam. Ford stuff has never gone to my spam.
You can't really blame Ford.
If that had happened to me I certainly would not had made it public.
Good luck.
