Ford Quality- How does stuff like this get past Quality Control?

This also reminds me of the day we were called to the coach line to repair a few terminals used in the plant. They forgot to turn off the assembly line when they left for the day, and the buses keep pushing each other off the end of the line until they reached the cage where the terminals were kept to check build status. They pushed in the cage wall and smashed the terminal against the wall. It only destroyed 5 buses/coaches.

Tell them it's a misbuild, Ford actually has a department for situations like this. I had a mod bumper but ended up with plastic bash and engine skids.
What a pain that ended up being. Finally got it resolved.

What was the resolution? I’m in the same situation and the dealer can’t help so I’m waiting on Ford.

Well back in the good-ole-days, you never wanted your vehicle buit on a Monday or Friday. Hung over on Monday's, and looking ahead to the weekend on Friday's. If this is the only issue I have getting my truck I'll be a happy camper. I understand your concern. This just brought back some of the old days at GM Truck and Coach.

Ugh and my build just got pushed from a Tuesday to a Friday.

I was in a Chrysler/Plymouth dealership checking out the new Omni/Horizons when they first came out and gleefully pointed out to the salesman that the car on the showroom floor had a Horizon badge on one fender, and an Omni badge on the other….

That's pretty embarrassing for Ford. If that happened at a Japanese auto plant, the worker would be disgraced and resign in shame.

We had the same thing happen between GMC and Chevy trucks, especially the Suburbans. I had folks swear that GMC was better quality. They came down different lines, etc.

That’s at least an easy one. It’s not like it’s two types of seats. Maybe the flairs are covered in plastic, that’s the excuse for the seats.

Not a complete shocker lol... also possible that something got messed up in transit and they replaced it with the wrong part... happens more than you think. Unless you picked up very quickly after shipping, then thats less plausible.
