So I skipped step #1 on black friday and didn’t do my research. I have a capable bumper and the lux package with ACC and parking sensors for context. Ended up buying an IAG winch mount and a ford performance winch because I saw the winch was going to be a lot cheaper and I read it wasn’t compatible with my bumper but the IAG one could work with small mods.

After I got the ford winch I started watching videos / searching online and found that the mount could work with minimal mods to the bumper. Overall the ford mount seems stronger since it has frame reinforcements but it doesn’t have easy ability to relocate camera / parking sensors.

Curious if anyone here has gone through the thought process of using one or the other or if there are other aspects of each mount that people like/dislike before I finalize the install and offload the extra?

There are a few videos on YT that cover both. The Ford setup has great reviews and has been said it have zero issues operating it. There are kits on the market that will relocate your front cam (If needed). Also, there is a sensor kit as well. You can find a thread about this on 6G.

I am still on the fence about a winch, but my choices are the Ford setup or the Maximus-3 removable one.

Ford kit installed on a buddies loaded Badlands Bronco. Easy just takes a little time.
Buy a camera relocation kit and either drill out the holes for the sensors or buy the 3d printed mounts. No other mods needed for other sensors and everything worked fine.
Search this site first the big thread on the ford winch kit, has good info.

So I have a wildtrak with the Lux package. I just installed the Ford Performance winch. I followed @chon guide. His guide was spot on, I can't take any credit. My relocated sensors and relocated camera work great. I ended up doing the 3d printed sensor mounts. The ACC still works despite what Ford says. The ford mount is quite robust. I liked it compared to others because it reinforced the frame horns. Install was easy. The only issue I had was my Thimble on the rope was too wide and wouldn't go into the hook. I contacted Ford Performance and they shipped me a new one right away.
