I purchased my 2022 Wildtrak from Chapman Ford in Philadelphia after ordering it with the factory accessory Bestop Trektop (Twill). I installed it a week after purchase, and never put my hard top back on.
Fast forward some time, and I'm having an issue with my Bestop where the passenger side tension cable that holds the fabric down has snapped. It's connected to the front hoop of the top, but the loop where it connects to the frame of the top broke. I took it to my local dealer, Palmetto Ford, in Charleston, and after some research, they couldn't find a Ford part number to order a replacement top. So, they told me to call the Chapman accessories guy and see if I could get a part number. They came back with VM2DZ78501C25H back on 21-JAN. I gave that information to my service guy at Palmetto Ford, and after a month, he told me that they can't order it, and that Chapman would need to order the part and pay them for installation.
So I called Chapman. I spoke with Alyssa, in service, who said none of that made sense, but she'd look into it and get back to me. That was on 18-FEB. Since then, I've exchanged a couple texts with her, called multiple times, left voicemails, but gotten no positive response. I spoke with the service manager, Dave, last Friday. I also spoke with the General Manager last week. Still nothing.
Has anyone had an issue getting warranty on Ford accessories that were delivered with the vehicle? I called Bestop, but they said they couldn't help because I didn't buy it from them. Of course, I rolled over my 3/36 last week, but I've been assured that the claim was in beforehand, so I'm good on the warranty repair, it's just getting really frustrating trying to get two service reps to line up and figure out what to do. If I could just get Bestop to send me a replacement cable, I'd fix it myself.
