If we were to increase the LCA length and remake the knuckle to keep the top ball joint location, would that new angle make adding more negative offset wheels possible without changing the OEM scrub radius?
yes. Steering axis is defined from lower to upper ball joints. For oem LCA and UCA combo it is fairly steep in camber plane, about 13 degrees. Increasing the steering angle will greatly affect scrub radius.

No pictures JL8jeff. I’m kind of grasping at the wheel machining. If I were to do anything to the brakes, it would be on some swap outs. I’ve yet to identify the exact rub spot.
Did you have the tires mounted and balanced on the wheels? If so, could it be the stick on weights hitting the calipers?

Good thought, but no. I did see a scrape on the inside of the wheel. I didn’t investigate any more thinking I could just spacer the problem. Then came along the scrub radius conundrum. Thankfully I’ve discovered a local source for spacers. I’m going to quantify the exact space I need and hopefully trim down that -14.5 offset. Hoping for -11.

My most recent experience with poke was almost running off the road seeing the four door Jeep with the wheels sticking out about a foot. I mean, with that kind of comedy just rolling around, they're a menace. Almost took out a fence!

All jokes aside, I would just say don't turn the wheels while stationary, and don't mill out the wheels or whatever, and you'll probably be fine, at least for a few years. Your paint, on the other hand, will probably suffer. Six and one-half dozen.
