This is not a political nor a practicality post of electric cars, but an observation and a question.
Why do "all" EV charging stations not have covers over them?
I ask this because I went by a third party EV charging station in a big box store parking lot while it was absolutely pouring rain out. There was some poor idiot out there trying to use the touchscreen for the charger and having to wipe the streaming water off the screen to get, I assume, their finger touches to count. I also assume there is an app to start charging but do you need to physically interface with the charger?
Anyway, my mind being idle at the time had me go down this silly path. I have never seen a Tesla nor any of the 3rd party chargers with any type of cover over them. I don't look for them nor do I search them out but I do not recall every seeing any covered. Especially here in the north. I mean for weather covers from rain and snow and just for a silly PR thing to have solar panels on them. Granted the solar panels would not be able to charge a car but hey they could more than likely run a couple LED's for illumination under the cover.
I just thought it was odd.
edit: spelling/grammar
