I thought so too, but they said it verbally and in writing, check out the doc I got today. Kinda stinks they said ‘due to weather conditions’ when it’s legit in a garageThat isn't a bracket.

good for you and your high standards, let’s see how far you get getting it replaced. It’s just a bare metal part, it’s going to rust. Some of us don’t have our standards so low that we are ok with parts rusting on a $50k vehicle within literal weeks of ownership.
I don’t see that being a bracket, looks like the turbo as previously posted. Some of us don’t have our standards so low that we are ok with parts rusting on a $50k vehicle within literal weeks of ownership.
Oh yea I’m more than ready for the undercarriage to be looking red real fast. I’m no doubt being over dramatic over the rust in the engine bay, I honestly thought it would take some off-roading and a couple winters at minimum first, not just a few weeks.I don’t see that being a bracket, looks like the turbo as previously posted.
I highly recommend you don’t look at the undercarriage, you will not be happy.
K, coolio, I appreciate you all being supportive. I’m on this forum as a lurker and looked for advice for the first time. Just something I need to get used to. Thanks for all you guys do.Put a new water pump on my 62 Pickup. Intentionally did not paint it and after about 8 months it had the same flash rust on it. Purely cosmetic. I wanted my water pump to look as rusty as the rest of my truck..
Got ya, makes sense yup. Learned that real fast lolTurbo housing is your rusty component, as stated. They are never painted in the industry, it won’t be an issue. The heat will cook off most coatings. Carry on, full send.
Coating it would also hold in heat and decrease the life of the bearingTurbo housing is your rusty component, as stated. They are never painted in the industry, it won’t be an issue. The heat will cook off most coatings. Carry on, full send.
Rust is actually a protective coating. As long as you don’t disturb it with a tool or scraping it or brushing it it becomes what’s known as magnetite. We tried to create that layer in boilers. Leave it alone it will be fine. One of the tank company’s in Cushing Ok, successfully argued in federal court that rust is a protective coating.
