Engine Rattle or Normal?

What are your thoughts? Not sure if I have ever opened the hood to listen.
Normal or concerning? There is a tic-tic-tic sound from inside the cab when cold. It goes away when warmed up.

It’s currently 46 degrees, no performance issues, 28k miles, 2.3

I believe what you are hearing is the Cam Phasers. Totally “normal” when cold. There a some threads on here about it. Many people have added an additive to oil. The oil seems to drain off…..I don’t think you have anything to be concerned about

2.3s don't have phaser issues. This sounds like good ol direct injection.

Mine does that for almost a minute on cold days.

Same, mine quiets down after oil temps get past 100*F.
