Update time. Car was repaired. We went to pick it up, after test drive the engine started knocking. Now Ford is saying that it’s something in the head. By the way this is a brand new 2023 bronco raptor that I got with 40 miles on it. It’s been at the dealer for 16 days already. Sucks…

Hey Donny - Any updates? My engine is getting replaced on mine (22 BRaptor) and I was told yesterday when I called for an update that they have a Brand new 2024 Raptor in there with engine knocking too.

ouch, 2024 has the same issue?
So I was supposed to pick up the bronco tonight but the dealer hasn’t called. I’m assuming something else is wrong now that they replaced the entire engine. It’s a joke and ford isn’t doing anything to help me

He told me that the 24 had a knock but they weren't sure yet if it was the same exact as mine. At first they replaced Heads, Followers, etc. and it still did it after they replaced all of that so now the whole engine is getting replaced because they believe it was always coming from the bottom end of the motor. My service rep was the only one that really helped me. The Ford Customer Care was worthless and ultimately the tech was the one that made the call and said he was replacing it. The Field Rep and Ford was saying its normal. Its not. I wrote a thread called Diesel Bronco Raptor and in that thread there is a video of the noise. See if that is the same as yours.

Any updates on this issue? I recently had the same knocking on a 2024 Bronco Raptor with 3000 miles. It's been in the shop for over a week and today I finally heard back from the dealer. They are saying that the @Ford Motor Company engineers said this noise isn't abnormal and that the motor naturally makes that noise. I find it hard to believe since I hear it randomly every time I drive it. Considering the problems with this engine should I look into legal advice for a resolution?

@Ford Motor Company has to do better for a $90,000 car. Love the Bronco just dissapointed.

Your dealership is lying.
Ask them why there’s an SSM for the concern if its “normal”
Bring it to a different dealership, that isn’t a bunch of idiots.

It is worth saying, this noise only happens for 2-5 seconds on start up. If you’re hearing something else randomly while driving it, then it’s not the same issue as the original post.

Thank you for info, Yes I hear the knocking sound randomly while driving it. Not sure what is causing it so I will need to due further research. I know it's definitely not a normal sound from an engine. I'll pick the Bronco up today from the dealer and go from there.

Mine did it constantly and it was loud. It wasn't random so the engine got replaced after arguing with them over and over. Definitely the bottom end of the motor. Funny how it wasn't a problem but they replaced the engine and I haven't had an issue since.
