I'm late to this fun thread. Can't say I've read every post. Reminded me of the vintage car hobby (even though a new Bronco is nothing even close).

We once had a girl hop on our motorcycle for a selfie! She was lucky we were in a restaurant and couldn’t get out to the parking lot quick enough!
What would you have done if you were quick enough? What if you were outside and she asked if she could take a selfie on the bike?

I ask this because I once drove my friend and his new wife to a hotel in a 1939 Packard. I pulled up to the marquee and let them out. Then I went inside for a minute. When I came back out, a guy had jumped into the drivers seat while his girlfriend (or maybe wife) took a picture of him. I said "Dude, get out the car." I expressed frustration and told him "I would have let you sit in the car, but just ask first". I was more disappointed than anything. He wasn't going to hurt anything, but it was just rude.

I'm happy to show off my vehicles to people and let them get in and even take them for rides. All they have to do is ask. And no, I don't care if people put their hands on the car. It's just a car.

Anyone who got to experience the Ford Fusion / Lincoln MKZ door latch debacle may be more sensitive to door slamming. (2013-14 Ford/Lincoln door latches completely failed allowing doors to swing open at will. It took Ford a few years to finally initiate a recall)

I would just type that OP typed "To my surprise as I reached for the door..." he assumed he would have permission to touch without actually having it and the owner vehemently disapproved. Permission is not always a given. Was the reaction a bit much - probably. But who knows what kind of day that guy was having.

I also saw a post that said we are Bronco owners and not random strangers... Owning a Bronco doesn't make you friends. You are both random strangers to each other. Driving the same vehicle means nothing at all. Use cases certainly don't read as though they are the same, so why assume he is like you?

Some people just don’t like other people touching their stuff. Seems a bit aggressive but….
On a side note, how he uses his car is no better or worse than how you decide to use yours. I have taken mine off road and, to be honest, meh. I use mine at the beach where 4x4 is required to drive into the sand. I always chuckle at guys who feel supervisor because they run on dirt. I mean, really, who cares.

That's actively dangerous in certain parts, just getting in someone's car? There's a lot of people carrying in the state of Texas and a few of those might think it was getting stolen.
