Oh, I am VERY against people touching my vehicles when I'm not around.
If someone would like to give something, do it in person and have a conversation.
Having had the original paint on my 65 Galaxie gouged by a belt buckle while someone was putting a flyer on the windshield... I get, touchy, about it.

Oh, my favorite is the reach over. As in, let me reach over the side of your truck into the bed and scratch the fender all up with my belt buckle. I've even done it to myself!

As have I.
I take mine off road, thru brush, etc.
But the damage is by me, and from choices I made.
The first scratch was the day I brought it home... On the white roof.
I will still get testy if others scratch it.
