I'm trying to figure out what the thread is used on this ground stud? It's threaded on the outside and I would like to use that for any future additions since I have added so many below it. I know it looks like a nut on threaded stud, but it's actually a bolt with threads extending off of the head. This is the one closest to the battery where the battery's ground lead is attached. Thanks

Went to check for you, but apparently newer models are different. I don't have that stud.

Thanks to all the replies. I just bought a kit of assorted nuts. Hopefully one will fit there, and the others I'm sure will come in handy. Thanks again.

If you have a tap & die set, it should have thread gauges. ;) :D

It makes no sense to have that stud and attach terminals underneath the bolt head. The thread is probably M6x1.0. If you have 6x1.0 and 8x1.25 you will have nuts for most any fasteners in that size range on your vehicle.

'got the same thing.

I had a spare nut that happened to fit when I installed this bracket, and just measured it to be M6 x1.0 per Mitutoyo (caliper) -- if this helps anyone.

It's a 40 minute drive to a hardware store, so I did what I did with what I had. I don't think it's as igregious as you make it sound, but I plan on moving some back to the other side once I get the correct nut.

Might be too late, but here is a picture of my 2026 4-dr Badlands with the 2.3L engine compartment. Note that it does have a ground stud vs bolt. Maybe stud vs bolt is model or year dependent. Google AI seems think the thread size is M6x1.0.
