You are replacing the B/O SUB? You can add a second SUB with this unit.

Here is a video on DSP 101 for anyone who wants to learn more about this powerful option.

I want full DSP control of all channels in addition to replacing the sub. Front mid-bass drivers (kick panels) are next on the list. I have a fair amount of DSP experience, though mainly in pro/commercial sound. I do have the gear for testing/analysis, so not a typical user.

The MoBridge looks to match my needs nicely, but I haven't found many people with experience with it.

The issue with using any of the stand-alone dsp units is I still need to convert the digital A2B signal the B&O system uses. Trying to keep the number devices to a minimum as well.

I heard back from the manufacturer and they said it's not compatible yet. They should have the update ready in a few months.

Did you end up using the Mobridge? I am on their list for the next batch coming later this month or early next. Curious to hear your experience if you went that route.

You can do the PAC Amp Pro as well, the guys who did my audio system said the Broncos with B&O who do a full system upgrade use that to convert the signal.

Indeed. I have looked at that one. But I'm intrigued by the space saving of a single device for A2B, amplification, and DSP. Space for the devices will be limited, if I go with the JL Stealthbox in the OEM sub location (if they get around to releasing it).

For those getting this amp, do you plan to handle the 4 speakers powered off the head unit? Run new wires all together to those speakers or splice into the wires from the back of the headunit and then run wires back to the amp?

I'm not sure about the base audio system, but with the B&O my understanding is that everything is controlled by the amp. This goes for (some) Ford/Lincoln vehicles that have a Revel system instead of B&O. The compatibility for the Mobridge does not mention the base system. But Fraser has been incredibly responsive to emails I've sent to their sales address. I'm sure he'd weigh in.

My plan, once I gather the parts and have a stretch of cooperating weather, is to swap the BO amp for the Mobridge device.

My front stage will be 3-way active LR, with likely a mono midrange in the middle. The 2x 300w channels will go to the kick panel. The 6x 150 watt channels will go to the dash (2x left, 2x right) for mid/tweet. That leaves two channels. One for the center, and one for the rears to share. (Mind you, these are their listed peak wattage values. RMS will be half at best. But still ample for me).

I've never been much for rear fill anyway. Not sure if I'll even swap the rear speakers. But regardless, two 4ohm speakers can be wired in series for an 8ohm load, or two 8ohm in series for a 4ohm load. According to Fraser, differential rear fill is in the works for a future firmware update. Attenuated mono signal and slight delay will be fine if that never happens.

For those getting this amp, do you plan to handle the 4 speakers powered off the head unit? Run new wires all together to those speakers or splice into the wires from the back of the headunit and then run wires back to the amp?

I spoke to him and looked at the b&o schematics, the amp is only powering 6 speakers. The other 4 are powered by the head unit.

Interesting. That would open up some more options for the rears.

Curious to hear any further detail on that.

more info:

So that means obviously that only 6 speaker wires are actually run to the b&o amplifier in the rear of the car. Our harness will plug in to these wires and power those channels. However, the channels run off the headunit you will need to either run new wires all together to those speakers or splice into the wires from the back of the headunit and then run wires back to our amp.

Due to the much higher power of our amp over the factory amp, you will also need to run 6awg power cable directly from the battery across to our amp, the factory power cable at the factory amp location will not be thick enough to handle the current our amp will draw.

Still waiting on a few pieces before I fully crack this project open. I'll start a thread to document and link it here. But I do have the amp on hand now.

Even though I'd reviewed the dimensions, it's smaller than I had visualized.

Can't wait to get it going.

Way cool! How does it compare in size to the factory amp? Are you planning on mounting it in the same location?
