Like many others, I order the Magnum Stirrups back in January 2024 and was told they would ship in 8-10 weeks. 10 weeks later I was told it would be another 2-3 months. 3 months after that I was told 4-5 weeks, and since then no response at all. Now I see they have closed and essentially stolen all our money through their fraudulent business practices. I'm about to start a dispute through both my credit card and the Washington Attorney General's office, but don't have much hope of recovering my money given the length of time since I placed the order and the fact they are most likely bankrupt. Lesson learned to never order anything from Archetype or Curtis ever again. What a POS...

I am an attorney in Orlando, Florida who was stiffed by Curtis/AR on an order I placed way back in March 2024. They have now ghosted me, and are no longer communicating with me about the order. I am now learning here on the forums that this is a familiar experience for many of you on here. It's looking like I won't be able to receive a refund from my credit card due to the amount of time that has elapsed since my purchase - I'm sure others here have experienced the same obstacle. I have begun investigating Curtis and his business operations and I am considering all available avenues of legal action against him and AR. I have followed this thread so I can stay up to date on other peoples' experience in navigating this nightmare. I will update here as well whenever possible.
I am one of the many who also got stiffed on my fender badge order. Would love to join any litigation against this horrific business.

I had ordered Magnum Stirrups on 2/2/24. Looks like my credit card company is going to refund me. We used last date of contact from them of 7/24, which was the last time they replied to one of my emails and assumed a delivery date of the originally quoted 8 to 10 weeks from the last communication date.
Good luck to anyone else dealing with this. Think I'm going with IAG!

See my post, my CC company used 8 to 10 weeks expected delivery from last date of communication with them to make claim current enough.

Now that it's clear AR screwed everyone and isn't coming back from it...has anyone found any close seconds to the Magnum Stirrups? Hate that I discovered these right as everything was going to hell in a handbasket.

Honestly that was probably for the best. Only thing better would have been early 2023. There are people that bought between May and July that got caught up late.

He is using our financial relationships with our Credit Card providers as his Business Insurance. He is betting that the Credit Card issuers will make us whole while he pockets the cash daring them to come after him. They usually don't bother to chase too hard and just take the loss.

Nobody hurt but big business... amirite?

Following this thread and others, I now have a new personal rule. I won't order from someone who charges in advance. I ordered an overhead molle panel from LoboOffRoad. Chris told me it would take a few weeks to fabricate. I noticed he has not charged my card yet. So it seems I won't be charged until the order ships. That's a sign of a well run and well funded company vs one that appeared to have liquidity problems.

It could be because Curtis was always buying new cnc equipment. Or at least said he was. Many companies have failed because they tried to grow too fast.

I could see a company charging upfront for materials, then collecting the rest on delivery. Many contractors have a similar policy. But only companies with cash flow problems need all the money (cost + profit) up front.

Think about it. Almost any reputable company has a similar policy. They don't charge until they ship.

I just did a Google search for them as I needed to know what double-sided tape to use for my BYOD mount.
I found this thread. This is unfortunate. I was lucky enough to receive my mount.
I went to their website and saw that it's "currently unavailable." In a Google search, it states they are "Permanently closed."

Found this on Reddit:

What's really horrible about people like this is when those that actually received the parts they ordered feel "lucky." No one should ever feel this way.

Very sad.

I ordered my Magnum Stirrups immediately after taking ownership of my 2023 Badlands in March 2023 and had them in 12 weeks. Amazing quality and look great.

I guess this means we're not getting that sweet roof rack he kept talking about...

Actually i don't feel lucky. I have a problem now I didn't expect to have:
I have the 4dr magnum stirrups (step rails) and I have no way to get replacement parts if there is some damage, such as to the aluminum mounts you affix to your OEM rock rails which are most likely to suffer impact damage on the trail. The vendor is not around should I need anything in the future post-sale.

So now that I have them, if I ever needed a piece, the company that made it is out of business. I'd have to buy a complete new set from another company and take these off and trash them.

bad all around.

I actually take it a bit further than that - I bought quite a lot of internal stuff from him (steering wheel, vin plate, bam rail), and every time I see an “AR” makes me think about how I defended him, meanwhile he was just stealing peoples money, along with my ~$150 for the shift knob.

True.

I'm in the same boat, as I have their rock rail steps on my JL. Shame, since they are extremely nice.
