Appreciate all the constructive feedback guys.

Yes, the fairlead mount is questionable and if it needs to be changed in the future I'll do so. I enjoy arts and crafts (y)

I know what you mean!
I think that modifying the front "skid" plate would be easy by simply cutting it at the edge of the fairlead and bending it up so that it was sandwiched between the fairlead and the winch mount. Then weld in a couple of wedge end pieces to tie it together and strengthen it.
But very nice work!!!

Looks nice and clean, but from an engineering/physics point of view it's not going to work well. The pass through for the cable is not aiming straight forward. When you start winching anything heavy your cables going to drag heavily along the upper side of that pass through.
Your last picture shows the angle pointing down at a serious angle.
Gonna have tons of wear on the cable and the pass through.
Isn't the assumption that you won't always be able get a straight pull hence the radiuses edges on the fairlead?

Since the fairlead is polished and it's a synthetic rope the wear should be minimal.

It would be interesting to see how much load is on the fairlead but I don't see how the bash plate is going to be affected.

Looks great and really professional. My dream home will have a garage with a lift and the the equipment that I would need to do stuff like this myself.

Best one yet. Im still waiting for @Mishimoto to come out with the high mount intercooler before I do something similar but this is a clean install for sure.

As with all of my junk, nothing real exotic here just doing what I can to avoid the Bronco Tax:

I would call this a DIM (do it myself) I don't have the time or the tools to make that. But I've thought about it after I changed out my intercooler and added my ADD front bumper and skid plate. Looks awesome.

Nice work on the winch mount, blah blah blah, but honestly I'm just green with envy at your garage! 2 poster at home FTW!

Thanks again for all the kind words/input guys.

As for the shop, it's a 36x48 with the 2-post lift in one of the door bays, and while the lift was expensive it's been worth every penny. I spent decades rolling around on my back in the gravel before finally getting a concrete floor in a single bay garage in our first house, and when we sold that place and bought this house I used the some of the sale equity to erect the shop and the rest for the down payment. A few years later I had enough scraped together for the hoist and my back has never felt better :ROFLMAO:

Nice Fab work!

My only beef with any of the "hidden" designs is that almost all of the off roading I have done, these areas of the truck have been inaccessible due to a big rock, the approach angle, sand or buried in deep mud.

If you only go into the rough stuff occasionally then the hidden winch benefits outweigh any drawbacks.

Exactly my thoughts!

However - it looks way nicer than any winch bumper I’ve seen yet for the Bronco.

I’ve seen one or two designs so far that are almost acceptable to me. Tuck in about as much as possible given the limitations of the vehicle body. But the vast majority just stick way TF out way too much for my tastes. They all remind me of those old work trucks back in the 70’s that had the bumper sticking out 18 inches with big ass PTO winch in the middle and a tool box on each side.

Plus there’s the whole relocate sensors issue for us guys with ACC.

So I’ll probably go with a hidden winch and deal with the “cons” as they arise. The logic being: I’ll only get into one of those hairy positions like once a year, but I gotta look at it every damn day.

Form over function and all…
