Used some RGB rock lights as chase lights. Mounted them to the rear glass hinge covers. I’m happy with it as they blend in well with the hinge covers.

I like them and thought about mounting some in the same place, but I go 6 months or so without the top. Looks great for people who rarely go topless.

just two more disconnects to go along with the rear washer and plug.

Yeah. I just didn’t want to have a different setup with top off. I think that’s an ideal location though.

makes sense. I don’t take the top off on dusty trails (live in the desert) when I’d be using the chase lights.
only downside is if the top was off and I wanted to have a disco party I’d be out of luck 😂

I’m rethinking all the dusty top off I’ve been doing. When I pulled my interior panels out there was a heavy coating of dirt everywhere.

Yep. The worst. Same with sand dunes. I keep forgetting to roll my windows up and inevitably I get sand everywhere.

Can you explain a little more about how you mounted them? Did you just screw it onto the plastic covers? Do they just pop off? I want to try doing something similar but don't want to crack the cover getting it off. :)

Sorry this might be a little late. but the covers pop off you have to push them up they have little hooks that hold on to the hinge pin. if you open the glass you can see them. it helped if i pushed them up with the glass open then had to close the glass to get them off. I am using the Nilight RGB set but they look identical to the OPs lights I had to use shorter screws then what came in the lights, to mount them dilled a hole for the cable and two holes for the screws mounted them with some RTV, I just need to mount the control box and wire them up.

I was going to mount the second pair on the sport bar for when I am rolling top off and need the lights.
