Looking for a summary of the differences between the 8 and 12 inch center screen options. Ford.com states the 12 inch is touch screen with swipe capability. Is the 8 inch not a touch screen? Does it offer apple car play? What are the differences?

The smaller size is not an HD Radio receiver.

The smaller 8 inch uses older technology and is less responsive than the 12 inch. This is anecdotal but I've tried over several Broncos and find the same results. Everything is 23 and earlier, so it might have been due to the lasting constraints, but the 8 inch is inferior software capability wise and is clearly noticeable if you're into the tech portion of using your car for apple car play or android auto, etc.

The 12” runs CarPlay/Android in a window and there are still some Ford Sync buttons available outside of that.

The 8” runs them full screen, and you have to toggle to get back to anything on Sync

It's not about the size but how you use it

8 inches is plenty, I've had 0 issues
lol....true. But seriously, these massive screens are getting out of control these days. I find them distracting. By all means, if you really love a huge screen and the money isn't an issue, go for it. I have an 8" screen in my 4Runner and Bronco and find them more than adequate. I'd rather spend the money on a nice heated steering wheel.

I agree with @Brsox, apart from the massive bezel that I lament as wasted space - for me the 8" screen itself is more than big enough and I end up turning it off at night because it's too distracting.

I just wish I had a dedicated button to do that rather than having to poke around the touchscreen to get to the Screen settings. My wife's Bronco Sport has it, and my F150 had it.

There was a thread around here with a guy who upgraded his 8” to 12” and ended up regretting it because it was just too much screen for the smaller interior. That said, if it’s your thing, it’s your truck and your money.

It's one of my biggest disappointments of the Bronco, a dedicated off button and a stand alone stereo system would do wonders.

Name one mass manufactured vehicle being made today with a "stand alone" stereo.

Know idea, I don't trade in vehicles, I drive them till they're dead, or totaled.

I really like the feature of having a "main" display and a "side" display. I can keep the nav, Car Play, or radio on the main and have other gauges or display on the side part. Other than what others have mentioned, another benefit is the 12" won't look as dated in 5-10 years (for those that keep their vehicles longer). We got an Escape back when the 8" display was the upgrade. Ten years later, it still looks current with regular displays. The base 4.5" or 5" display looks completely tiny and out-of-date. That's where the 8" display will be in the Bronco a few years down the road.
