First post, new bronco owner. Built several jeeps over the years. (Not a newbie)

2025 base 2 door.

Not planning a build, but need to ditch the 30” street tires. Prefer the retro tall skinny look. It’s an extra toy car for around town and maybe a few desert runs a year. (No more hard trails

I am hung up on the weight increase.
- Stock 30’s are only 32lbs.
- 33’s (255/85r16 or 285/75r16) add nearly 30lbs each.
- 32’s (265/75r16 or 235/85r16) add about 10lbs each.

Thing is a blast to drive as it. I can not imagine adding 30lbs per corner, but not sure if 32’s will look tall enough??

Anything I am missing?

Also - I keep coming across Pirelli Scorpion MTs in 235/85r16 (32x9.5) look kinda cool, discontinued but still available for cheap.

Any photos or thoughts on these for a 2 door Bronco?

I put Nitto Tera grapplers on my ranger because they didn't add a lot of weight an they were a good tire that lasted a long time.

I like how you are thinking… tall, skinny and light (how I like my women 😎). But seriously the 2.3 in a 2dr is plenty of hp and torque. Could buy some light 17in rims and 33 6 ply tires ??

Ok, while I won't lie and say that weight doesn't matter - because it certainly does.

There are a lot of us running around with 70-80lb-++ tires (just the tire, not the mounted weight)

Not saying you need to jump all the way to 37's or anything, but don't be afraid to put some meat on them bones.

Those plain Jane stick steelies are what drew me into the base model. 👍

I’ll probably end up running 32’s, can’t justify 20 lbs more each for 33’s.

probably jaded trying to compare to the teenie 30” street tires but I don’t want a fat pig.

Brian_B,

I had 37’s on my JKU for years and 35’s on my XJ. Not afraid to run meats, just not really what I want to do with this.

I dig the way it drives right now, guess I just need more pics of 2 door base on 32’s.

Grab a set of Black Diamond Grabbers with the 17" steelies. There steelies were discontinued so they aren't as prevalent anymore but you might luck out and find a seller near you.

@Administrator - move this to the non-Faptor section?
I think his other thread needs moved as well.

@TrailCrawler25 ... I ran damn near 100lb ea , 35" wheel/tire set up on my manual Base , 4.46 gears and it had "acceptable" performance.
I just recently went back to the stock set up, just for a change in looks and didn't really notice a ton of difference.
It's a bit easier to launch for sure, but it wasn't a day/night difference like I thought it would be.

One thing I'm pretty sure about, the 2.3/7mt/4.46 combo would be right at home with a 33" tire. Others have stated the same.

So my next tire will probably be one of the following:
.... 285/70-17 in a SL load rating (32.8" )
.... or a 255/85-16 on the silver steelie. (33.1" )
... or if I get the size matters attitude again , 255/85-17 ( skinny 35's)
