How far away is it? Why not just go get it? I've done that before and a few years back, that seemed to be fairly common as loads of people got the Brono deal they wanted in Iowa.

I usually do but it is in Iowa and the next 2 weeks it is ice and sleet and below zero, so for $800 I would just ship it than deal with that mess

With Bears Transport, I paid 3k for enclosed trailer from Mukwonago, Wisconsin to SF over a thanksgiving holiday for my bronco raptor.

They quoted me $1800 for an open trailer, horseless carriage quoted me $875 for the same thing

Sounds like you have sveral quotes now. I would say do your research by reading reviews and base your decision on who you are most comfortable with shipping your vehicle with. I could have got a cheaper rate, but i went with what i was comfortable paying for my own piece of mind. I was in constant text communication with the driver of my transport. He sent me updated along the whole way.

I’m “nearby” OP in Houston and I ship a few times a year. These guys have given me the least problems but it’s always a crapshoot on what driver you get from the dispatch company, and dispatch in my experience has very little control over them once they are on the road - so get the driver number ASAP. Even premium dispatch services I’ve used, I’ve felt my vehicle was safe but coordinating pickup and drop is usually a challenge due to the driver mentality, workload, personal issues, etc. - it gets worse every year.

Damn, looks like these guys are a broker or it is a junk website. As soon as I asked for a quote on their website, my phone started to blow up. Who knows who these people are. not interested in "chuck with a truck"

Sorry they must have gone out of business or gotten worse this year. Very unreliable industry, I guess the answer is to stick with the high dollar guys.

Not your fault, but in case someone stumbles upon this thread in the future. So far Bears offered at $1795 for open. Montway at $1179 for open, $1579 for enclosed. Reliable at $5000 for enclosed. Tons of Ukrainians named "Bob and Jack" have left messages at $500-$600

I second RoadRunner, used them for Granger Iowa to coastal SC, basically $1 a mile for open transport back in Sept. '23, not sure what they'd charge now.

Based on their Yelp reviews, they are a broker that will contract it out.
