I'm not usually one who likes to poke at other generations, but I'm guessing that Jitterbug was the tell here. 🤣
The jitterbug in the escape(sport) has evolved, it’s too advanced now! Instead of a rotary dial it’s buttons!!

I will admit - in some strange way, vehicle icons have become some language of their own in an effort to be “universal”

And there are some weird ones. The icons on the upper console for courtesy lamps and such always make absolutely no sense. There are buttons in the F150 that I couldn’t tell you what it does — push them and nothing apparent happens. Sure, I could look it up, and probably have half a dozen times and never remember - because some things there just does not exist a universal icon for yet…

Okay boomer. It isn’t that hard. Also lost your way, sport ≠ bronco
I used to wonder how the world went from "the greatest generation" to a world run by boomers, who have single-handedly destroyed everything they've ever been involved with...and then I read posts like the OP's and I understand completely.

Somehow I get the idea that someone purchased a Sport and thought they were buying the Bronco.

I know, right? I'm still not sure what this is over the passenger climate control knob.
But apparently it only lights up when someone is sitting there. 🤷‍♂️

Apparently, OP had the time to research (and purchase) that anodized blue volume knob trim ring. It would be unreasonable to suggest they reserve even a modicum of mental bandwidth to understand the controls required for basic vehicle functions…
