Just finished installing the @BROADDICT TrailDeck slide out tailgate drawer system.
The unit comes mostly pre-assembled. The packaging is really good to prevent shipping damage. It comes with a mat to cover the top of the unit to prevent scratches. They include Velcro strips to keep the mat in place. Also
Included are non slip tray liners and eye bolts. The printed instructions are very detailed and lots of illustrations.
First thing you’ll need to do is remove the two bars on the bottom for shipping support. This is easily done with a 4mm hex head tool.
The unit is very heavy and I strongly suggest having a second person assist with lifting it into the Bronco.
Once in place, slightly slide the deck forward to access the rear bolt areas (you’ll reuse the factory bolts that hold the hooks down, 10mm). You’ll put the bolts in without completely tightening them. Then move to the front and slide the platform back into itself. 3 of the front bolts are harder to place. I used a swivel extension and a ratcheting closed end wrench to get mine in. Before tightening all the bolts, you’ll want to shift the entire unit towards the front of the vehicle as much as you can for tailgate accessory clearance.
At this time, you’ll want to test the tailgate closing for clearance issues with tailgate tables or other accessories. If the tray handle interferes with a tailgate tables, you do have the option to remove the handle by unbolting it from underneath the tray. Luckily for me, mine barely cleared.
At this time you can place the optional mat cover using the supplied velcro trips and /or the non slip tray liners. You can also install the eye nut pieces with the t slot bolts.
At this point you are finished and can start attaching accessories and filling the trays with tools or other items.
FYI, YouTube video install premiere Monday 8 ET/6 MT. Live chat for any questions.
