I think non-SAS Badlands looks and performs better except for extreme offroad, but I'm biased, as is everybody else with an opinion on this.

that is a big reason i did not go sas. that and I did not like the tire wheel combo on the squacthesThat's crazy, I just went to the build and price and it's $4000 to add it to a manual, then add it to a 2.7 engine and it's still $4000 but take it off and it only subtracts $2500 and the free auto becomes a $1595 option. Looks like the manual guys get screwed and it costs $4000 more. LOL Hope that makes sense, I'm agreeing with you on the 2.7 and auto build.
……Moot, not mute….It’s not “just a different gear”, it’s a different gearing ratio that accounts properly for the added rolling mass so you always know your speed, etc. The tuning of the transmission and transfer case alone would cost you over $500 in most cases, then as others point out, wheels and tires together would be maybe $2K.
You’re not getting SAS wouldn‘t hurt any of us. Besides, you can’t get it from Ford anymore anyway, so it’s mute.
lol joey tribbiani in the house(well close to what he said)……Moot, not mute….![]()
Yeah, used a cordless impact. Came right off.Bead lock capable my ass! Has ANYBODY been able to get those damn trim rings off without ruining the bolts? They must have used used something beyond red loctite on mine, and I have heard the same from several others.
I completely agree with @22Badskwatch 's assessment. I've taken the Territories on rocks, deep snow, ice, dirt/ruts, through torrential rain, and they've been excellent; however, mud tires they're not - MT stands for Maximum Traction. I currently have about 10k miles on my original set - thinking that I can get 40k miles out of them.I am absolutely loving the stock Sasquatch tires- they're phenomenal in the snow, good in the dirt/sand, ride nicely for a daily driver, look good, work well in the rain - what don't you like about them?
i don't have the Goodyears, but the most common complaint is how bad they hold gravel ... and the pics I've seen of that are horrible. But from what I have been reading about everything else they do very well, I might consider them.I am absolutely loving the stock Sasquatch tires- they're phenomenal in the snow, good in the dirt/sand, ride nicely for a daily driver, look good, work well in the rain - what don't you like about them?
They are discontinued American Racing AR969 Offroad. What are those rims? I can't tell the brand from the picture. But I like!
I have then on my 4R, they work great. I fucking HATE my Toyo AT3's on anything other than dry roads. Rain, snow or anything slick they are downright dangerous.
The only good thing is how smoothly they roll out all the way up to Interstate speeds. No vibrations whatsoever.
Oh, and my fuel mileage seems to have gone up on the hwy ... hand calculated and corrected for speedo error.
There is a company that makes high clearance crash barsMain reason why SAS is not an option for me, BL and any other trim, is that crash bars have been removed
My kids will drive it too, and I couldn't process thought that I would have a car with less safety just to look cooler with huge SAS wheels
And, non SAS BL has front locker + SB disconnect, can pretty much do 99% as SAS version, so standard BL it is for me
As soon as order bank is open, ordering BL with all sins, tow, Lux... And couldn't care less if it takes 2 yrs for delivery, enjoying my OBX in the meantime![]()
For comparable aftermarket wheels and tires you're looking at $3,000-4,000 assuming you want 35x12.5x(17-20") tires and wheels.Good point. But 4K?
Yes, I took mine off for the first time yesterday and they all came off extremely easy. Had some kind of yellow loctite on it but wasn't an issue. I broke them loose by hand with my 3/8 ratchet then used my impact to take them all the way off and put them back on.Bead lock capable my ass!
